Namhara Byron-Low, Studio Coordinator and Dr. Meg Dolan, Collections Development Manager led the training, teaching how to remove marks on the paper, remove tape, mend hinges, tears, and the various tools involved in conservation and repair.

This workshop is part of our Front of House staff’s core training as Sales, Gallery & Archive Assistants. We do a range of things from framing to sales to printmaking courses, art handling and tours so they can learn as much as possible about the processes of printmaking.
The EP Team has been learning all about paper conservation- very useful in our line of work!
This was a chance for our team to learn some conservation techniques and what we can do to preserve prints and correct issues we come across. Turns out we can do a lot of repairs in house!

Without places to access equipment and make work, artists’ practice and livelihoods are seriously at risk in Scotland. We urge all our members and communities to sign the petition to Save Trongate 103 from closure.
Glasgow Print Studio and Street Level Photoworks are also members of our network and provide vital facilities for artists and communities across Glasgow and Scotland as a whole. This news follows on from the closure of previous Scotland's Workshops member Northlands Glass Creative in 2023.
Edinburgh Printmakers is part of Scotland’s Workshops and we stand in solidarity with all the arts organisations at Trongate 103, some of whom will be forced to close due to their leases being terminated by City Property.
