No. They've suddenly dropped to singletons in the last week or two (then again, so has pretty much everything else, except perhaps White-shouldered house-moth and Psyche casta larval cases which I've never seen so many of)

Gorse in VC29 is few and far between. I've recently spotted 2 bushes in the roadside with 3-4 miles of where I live - there's only one other known site amongst the local mothing community. Now to figure where to park nearer it and how to get to it without turning into roadkill...

I remember my mum running out into the back yard with a pan of water when I was a kid to chase a neighbour's cat that had decided our flowerbed was the best cat toilet in miles. Only mildly effective until one day that pan flew off the handle in the direction of the cat... 1/2
