Someday they'll see that this was a terrible mistake

It has become unfortunately difficult to buy protein powder without a subscription. Must my little powdered nutrients be part of your MRR chart??
TIL β makes so much sense that this would also apply to motorcycles
People just naturally start to go toward where you draw their attention, whether they want to or not. π€·π»
Might as well pick something good to point at.
This lesson has so many applications right now.
A drawing showing a river rafter who has fallen out of a raft in rapids. The people still in the raft are pointing to a safe way to swim rather than at rocks to avoid. Caption: "Point positive: pointing the way to go, rather than at the problem." Drawing created by sketchplanations.
My greatest professional accomplishment of the year: I got my exec & manager teammates saying "point positive," a term from whitewater rafting and kayaking.
Meaning: when facing hazards, point people toward where to go/what to do, rather than drawing attention to everything to avoid.
Questionable legacy but I'll take it ππΌ π
These teams consistently did some of the best reporting at the network. π

"These are Sabrinas. They aren't just a regular shoe. These are my Sunday church basketball sneakers."
ANYWAY, for those who I haven't seen lately, fully 1/3 of my identity has been displaced by Valkyries fandom so if you want to talk about that hmu
This article is such a gorgeous portrait of the Valkyries' first season, AND, it is the most nyt vibe ever. Like it was written by an anthropologist who never watched a WNBA game before this week. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/u...
NEWS: Veronica Burton has been named the 2025 WNBA Most Improved Player.
the "from devops to AI" panel was brilliant. @eanakashima.bsky.social: "people miss how much of devops was about culture... the culture stuff is maybe more important than ever now."
David Williams shared how AI is a black box we need observability to understand. bsky.app/profile/hone... #o11yDaySFO
If you're an author and haven't yet signed up for the Anthropic settlement, do yourself a favor (and strike a blow against AI) by checking to see if any of your books were involved.

I saw protestors on the I-80 overpass holding signs that said, "ICE TARGETS COLOR, NOT CRIME." And that's the whole game right there. This is about indiscriminately harassing people who look like immigrants, regardless of status.
YES!!! π₯
Hi authors! Please remember to file a claim!
Indeed. Wish it were just the Valkyries but nearly every WNBA team seems to have its own version when you look at who they promote.
Can someone from the Valkyries front office explain why the Valks shop has jerseys for two (2) players who rarely/never start and one (1) draftee who didn't actually join the team, but not Temi FΓ‘gbΓ©nlΓ© who starts every game AND has the most important singing part in the pre-game hype cheer #wnba
Amy Sherald says the Smithsonian suggested removing a painting of a transgender woman as the Statue of Liberty from her upcoming show at the National Portrait Gallery βto avoid provoking President Trump.β Sherald: βI cannot in good conscience comply with a culture of censorshipβ
A list of bad-news headlines wrapped up with an Atlantic article headlined βWhy are young people everywhere so unhappy?β
I donβt know man, what could it possibly be?
I don't know who needs to see this, as the saying goes, but platform engineering is not just "devops" or "infra" by another name.
Platform engineering is about bringing a product sensibility and design ethos to the infra-shaped technical problem space.
This is heartbreaking and horrible. AmeriCorps jobs are such a low-cost win-win, providing helpful support for the communities, nonprofits, schools, public agencies, etc. and helping young people pay bills and explore possible career paths.

And as a competitive athlete, I want to play against the best in the game, whether they're cis or trans. Please let my trans teammates play!
My heart breaks at the idea that we would deprive a generation of young trans athletes these formative experiences with their peers because of hateful, hysterical fear-mongering that has no basis in fact.
Not every team I played on had out transgender athletes, but when I have had trans teammates, they played the game with the exact same heart, determination, team spirit, and love of the game that my cisgender teammates brought.
Through sports, I also learned how to work together with people who might have come from different backgrounds or life experiences than me β and I learned to see the many things we all had in common.
From soccer to softball to rugby to rowing, the many sports teams I've been on throughout my life have been a safe haven, a second family, and a place where I developed lifelong teamwork and leadership skills.
