Not my idea of spring!
Posts by Andy Burke
Are you sure that’s spring?
A fallow deer stag with impressive antlers stands amid young nettles and in front of a large tree trunk.
For #StunDay here’s one of the fallow deer of #NationalTrust Dyrham Park, from earlier this week.
A group of four were calmly browsing and ignoring the humans.
Nice and sunny in this shot but shortly after there was a hail storm that I really wasn’t dressed for!
A photo of a spring woodland. There are a lot of trees, freshly in leaf. The foreground is dominated by host of bluebells.
For #ForestFriday here are some more bluebells, and trees.

Photo of a Red Rebel on the front of a zine with the words Rebellion! and Davenant in white below. The zine is lying on a wooden floor.
The zine for Rebellion! is now available in my shop. It has 55 photos distilled down from 40,000 taken over the life of the project. I’m very pleased with the quality of the printing and hope you like it https://marcdavenant.com/product/rebellion-zine/
A soft focus image of a white bluebell. The background is out of focus and dark green.
Today’s soft-focus bluebell isn’t. Isn’t blue that is.
Our local woods have an area with a few of the white variety.

'Molten Gold sky' I haven't seen a sunrise like that for a while! This morning from St Michael's tower on Glastonbury Tor.
A minimal macro image of a Sempervivum flower head. They are understatedly beautiful I think, a cluster of lovely little pink star flowers, of various shades of pink with hints of yellow, on a slightly furry pale green stem. It comes into the image just beyond the bottom left corner and rises to fill the centre of the frame.

An image of greater stitchwort. There is a single flower open with 5 pairs of mostly white petals. Other flower buds are visible but only starting to open, being mostly green but white light markings showing through the joins in the sepals. The background is dark with blurred long leaves.
Greater stitchwort in the local woods. Bright little stars but easily overlooked among the bluebells.

I did appreciate the Russian doll with Orbán on the outside and Putin inside at the Tisza party 😀
A soft focus photo of a bluebell. There are a lot of bells just about in focus with other out of focus in the background. The rest of the background is dark green.
Another bluebell, in soft focus glow for #StunDay

A red poppy is in the process of breaking out of its pod. The pod is splitting apart but still remains on the tip of the flower, while the flower is anxious to be free. The pod is light green and has stiff white hairs pointing up which are contrasted against a dark background. The poppy's stem is light green, thick, and has light-colored hairs clinging to the stem. In the background are some withering daffodils and darkness. Archive photo

Thanks!
Thanks Alina, they’re lovely at the moment!
A photo of woodland. There are three main tree trunks shown with others in background. There are a few piles of dead branches - great habitats. The woodland floor is mostly green but with lots of bluebells. A faint deer track leads ahead into the woods.
Here are some #bluebells with added trees as it’s #ForestFriday and #Scape day.

A photo of a carpet of English bluebells in a wood. The extend into the scene. Those near the foreground are in focus those behind are blurred.
More bluebells!
The local woods are now carpeted in bluebells. Probably nearing their peak.
A soft focus close up of a bluebell flower. The background is dark, out of focus and mostly green.

More bluebells in soft focus today. I may be addicted.

We didn't deserve this day.
Looks like we get 2 more weeks. The world needs more love.
just to be clear, everyone, when 8 pm EDT comes and goes, regardless of what does or does not happen, the president still threatened genocide and war crimes and we should still impeach, arrest, and try him
I feel sick to my stomach waiting around to see what atrocity Trump has in mind for the people of Iran this evening. It's hard to fathom our other elected leaders aren't able to check him in any meaningful way. It's an indictment not just of voters but of our whole system. We're ruled by a mad king.
That Trump post is a clear expression of genocidal intent. Clear cut case with zero caveats.
This is the ultimate test for a constitutional order.
Either constitutional mechanisms are used to check and balance this, and remove him from office, or they are not.
For there can be no greater test for any constitution.
Donald J. Trump K @realDonaldTrump A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
Evil.
No other word for it.
Congrats!
A close up soft focus image of a dandelion flower. The petals are bright yellow. The anthers are orange with double, curly pollen bearing stigma. The background is out of focus and mainly dark green.
Dandelion
This humble dandelion outshone the bluebells today.

Before going to sleep on flight day 5, the Artemis II crew snapped one more photo of the Moon, as it drew close in the window of the Orion spacecraft. Orion and the four humans aboard entered the lunar sphere of influence at 06:37 CEST on 6 April, at the tail end of the fifth day of their mission. That marked the point at which the Moon's gravity had a stronger pull on the spacecraft than Earth's. Artemis II's closest approach to the Moon will come on flight day 6, as they swing around the far side before beginning their journey back to Earth.
✅ #Artemis II update: the spacecraft entered the lunar sphere of influence this morning at 05:37 BST/06:37 CEST, 6 April, at about 51 000 km from the Moon (the region of space where the Moon’s gravitational pull is stronger than that of Earth’s).

Jesus tweeting from the cave in the style of Trump
too soon?
A huge betrayal.
Won't lower bills. Won't give us more energy security. Won't insulate from price shocks.
And sends a clear message to the world that we are backing new oil and gas drilling.

A close-up soft focus macro photograph of a common dog violet flower. There are shades of violet from dark to light and shapes petals. Lines lead in to the flower centre which has some finger like projections, probably stamens.
