My audio player (Hiby R2, not in the article but similar to the Shanling M0) is smaller than my phone, lighter than my phone, and actually has a headphone socket. Owning it means I don't have to worry about whether my phone is any good at playing audio just how good it is for making phone calls.
I buy my lossless audio from Qobuz.com I'm sure other outlets are available. Pink Floyd, and many others, are available there at up to 192khz! Personally I just stick to CD quality.
