A juvenile Eastern Koel waits impatiently for its foster parent Wattlebird to bring it some food. Must be hard work for the Wattlebird when the Koel is already bigger than them.

a thick tree trunk situated in a winter wonderland. the trunk is at least 5 feet in width, the ground is covered in several inches of snow, and some of it has caught on the bark of the tree. behind the tree stands a majestic and incredibly long husky. his head sticks out from the left side of the trunk, while his hind end pokes out from the right side. i suppose there's a world in which this could be two dogs... but that's probably not what's happening here.

This dog is too long for our current rating system to handle. We are working internally to address this problem, but in the meantime please only send regular-length dogs. Thank you… 13/10

Been a while since I posted a cute Echidna, so here you go!

Came across this intrepid one at Mulligan's Flat. To get the shot I put my camera up on the log and shot while hiding my face out of view. Got pretty lucky I must say!

The Corymbia cultivars at the Australian National Botanic Gardens are flowering nicely. I think this my favourite, with is pretty two-tone flowers.

Kangaroo grass (Themeda triandra) illuminated by the glow of last night's sunset. This is my favourite native grass, and a key indicator species of high quality natural temperate grasslands.

Not very common, and mostly confined to late summer. The storms also tend to skirt by along the mountain ranges to the east and west.

Thanks! Yeah it was a wild one! I actually got this from my bedroom haha. No way I was going out in it.

Sometimes I forget how pretty Crimson Rosellas are, because they're so common. The way they contrast against a deep green background is so cool.
