We mourn the passing of Prof. J. Kent Blasie (1943-2025). Kent spent decades @sas.upenn.edu, ultimately being named the Walter H. & Leonore C. Annenberg Professorship in the Natural Sciences. Kent also served as Chemistry Department Chair from 1983 to 1986. Here is a pic from happier times.

Mark Trodden has been named Dean of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts & Sciences and Thomas S. Gates Jr. Professor. A distinguished physicist and accomplished academic leader, Trodden will assume the role on June 1.
