#IPB2026
Back in Halle and it feels good🥳. Really enjoyed the session on auxin response factors, especially the link between transcriptional control and spatial patterning. Lots to think about for my Auxin perturbation assays💃. Already thinking how to bring some of this into my experiments.

That concludes day 1 of our Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium #IPB2026 on a beautiful sunny day here in Halle.🌤️
What were your highlights?
See you for another round of excellent talks tomorrow.👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Because did you know - and don’t tell him we’re posting this 🤫😉 - this year's symposium also marks a farewell to IPB director Steffen Abel and is centered on 'his' research topics: auxin, phosphate, and glucosinolates! 🌱🅿️🐛
Jonathan Gershenzon with a great talk at #IPB2026 on mixtures of metabolites in #plantdefense 🌱 Did you ever think of maize plants having different smells? Bonus: a fun nod to Steffen Abel’s own mixture of research interests.
@spicybotrytis.bsky.social asks where do new pathways come from? A master class on glucosinolates 🤩
Dan Kliebenstein (@spicybotrytis.bsky.social) has just taken us through the evolution of the glucosinolate pathway. Another highlight to round out day one of #IPB2026 is coming up next: Jonathan Gershenzon (@mpi-ce.bsky.social) on plant natural products.
Amazing day 1 of IPB Plant Biochemistry symposium 2026 , great lineup indeed! @ipbhalle.bsky.social
EPSO welcomes the Council’s adoption of the Trilogue agreement on the legislative proposal for regulation of New Genomic Techniques in plants. EPSO offers to contribute on a scientific basis.

Our 4th Symposium speaker: Katharina Bürstenbinder is back in Halle (@unihalle.bsky.social)! She’s presenting her lab’s work on IQDs as plant‑specific hubs linking signaling & cytoskeleton - aiming to bridge the scales from organismal growth to molecular mechanisms. #IPB2026
Before our lunch break, an amazing talk from Michael Horton on how plants sense phosphorus internally.
Next, @structplantbio.bsky.social is sharing on inositol pyrophosphates' regulatory function and their implication in plant #phosphate homeostasis - with beautiful #structuralbiology. In addition, there's still a lot of plant InsPs and interactors and interactions out there. 🅿️🌱 #IPB2026
Kicking the symposium off, @luciastrader.bsky.social gives us a beautiful overview of her work on the molecule that is involved in almost everything 🙃
Changing gears and diving into #phosphorus: Matthew Pasek, as our second #IPB2026 speaker, really expands our view. Deep sea, other planets, lightning chemistry, biogeochemistry - fascinating perspectives that are rarely on our plant researchers' minds, but so interesting to see a bigger picture.
Starting off our symposium #IPB2026 is @luciastrader.bsky.social with recent insights from her lab on temperature regulation of #auxin signalling and also interesting approaches to shed light on plant transcription factors.
It is that time of the year when the @ipbhalle.bsky.social puts together an excellent lineup for speakers for our Plant Biochemistry Symposium. This time the symposium reflects Steffen Abel’s scientific interests as we celebrate his time at the IPB
Let's go!!! The lecture hall is filling up and our Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium is about to start. #plantsci #IPB2026
Today, the 3rd Early Career Plant Researcher Meeting started with advice on application processes in academia, as well as a tour of the research facilities at the university and @ipbhalle.bsky.social 🌱 I am grateful to attend this meeting and get advice on funding opportunities and grant writing.
🌱 #PSSC2026 is coming to IPB Halle (10-12 June 2026).
Organized by our doctoral representatives, the student conference offers great talks, poster sessions, workshops & keynote lectures by invited international plant scientists.
