A screencap of the original call for papers for the special issue of Political Theology on "Marx and Revolution"
Together with @s-msorentino.bsky.social, I have edited a special (double) issue of Political Theology on "Marx and Revolution." All of the articles are finally complete and it will be published June 1 as volume 27.4. Can't wait to see it in print!

An image of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who famously rejected the possibility of representing popular sovereignty in "The Social Contract" with the text "This is fine" superimposed as a reference to the meme.
Just gonna leave this here to celebrate the general elections in Denmark.

"There is nowhere to escape to, neither on a planetary level, nor on a local level, as the contemporary advances in domestic surveillance and militarized police control, border militarization, and forms of remote violence remind us" Really appreciate this part in particular. Don't know that I agree with your reading of the Commune entirely, but there is definitely a lot to study and learn from about both the internal and geopolitical dynamics – apart from don't lose – and I think that Marx, Lenin, etc. have done a good deal to get us started on that project.

Communal Luxury
Kristin Ross’s new work on the thought and culture of the Communard uprising of 1871 resonates with the motivations and actions of contemporary protest, which has found its most powerful expression in...
It brought novel political forms into being, inspired the workers’ movement, and scared the powers that be across Europe. I think Kristin Ross’ work beautifully illustrates its central and lasting influence despite its tragic end.

A sepia-toned long-exposure photograph of a barricade with cannons and weapons stacked behind and people in front forming part of the defense of the Paris Commune
On this day in 1871, revolutionary Parisians seized the cannons at Montmartre and control over Paris, establishing the #ParisCommune a radical but short-lived experiment in workers’ self-government #OTD

Image of Heidegger holding Guthrie's famous guitar, the sticker thereon has been changed to read "This fascist kills machines".
Went back to Twitter to check something and @deontologistics.bsky.social reminded me of this meme, I genuinely think the best meme to ever be produced by Philosophy Twitter.
