I almost forgot about this "oldie but a goodie" paper published in 1994. It might be one of the first ones showing the use of variable-temperature ESI to measure the thermodynamics of non-covalent binding of a protein to a peptide (native MS). The first author was a young @goodlettlabb.bsky.social

Great meeting to get a "top-down" view of how mass spectrometry and microscopy can merge to "see" large biological molecules. Can't wait for the next version of MS + M, wherever and whenever it's held.

I know what you mean, but when I was a kid, my favorite breakfast was ice cream on top of a Eggo waffle (that was before parents knew about teaching kids about nutrition). But I think I saw some Canadians diving for the ice cream #ASMS2025. Don't you like ice cream on your poutine?

Attendance was around 6080+ #asms2025, which is good, given the current circumstances. Despite last minute cancellations, we had many last minute registrations also. Overall, it felt like a “normal” @asms.org conference - lots of energy, lots of fun.

Hope everyone made it home safely after #ASMS2025. Thanks all for making it another fun conference. Planning for #ASMS2026 San Diego started at 7:30am this morning. Don’t forget to fill in the post-conf survey when you get it. More ice cream and fruit? @asms.org

Looked like a great Los Angeles Area Mass Spectrometry Discussion group meeting. I was hoping to make it, but the traffic driving up from the ACS San Diego conference was too much. Hopefully, Amgen can host again soon.

Last week was busy for the ASMS Board, meeting in Santa Fe to plan for the 2025 ASMS annual conf in Baltimore. After 3-days, we were looking pretty tired and grumpy (left), but the thought of #ASMS2025 cheered us up (right). Check out the Asilomar, Winter conf, and Fall Workshop topics @asms.org.

Happy holidays from the Loo group at UCLA. It's been an eventful year - some people leaving (graduating, making tons of $$), and new students joining. Next year promises to be equally busy and fun. "Nothin' but blue skies from now on...". Wishing all a peaceful 2025.
