Curious what the Tribrid released at #ASMS2026 will be? You should read this paper.

Exciting news! Our open source mass spectrometer saw its first ions this week. Still a lot of work to do, but a full characterization and schematics should be available by #ASMS2026. Message me if you’d like more details.
Further confirms IRMPD for #ASMS2026 leaked Thermo tribrid.
Not sure yet if NETD will be part of the release, despite being the topic of this paper.
Sciex have a recent patent on NETD for oligos (Zenotof 9600?) so looks like both vendors are committing R&D to biopharma segment.
New TMT Tribrid from Thermo for #ASMS2026 (public info)
- IRMPD is the new UPVD
- IRMPD with TMT boosts reporter intensity by up to 240% without affecting quant
- New resolutions -> Down to 1k res, with an associated loss of signal, but at least it looks faster!
- Improved proton transfer reaction
There have been suggestions that conflicts of interest should be clearly displayed by speakers at all times.
I've got a leak from a factory that is preparing for #ASMS2026 and they've shared their new conflict of interest outfits for the presenters. (I think @benneely.com had this idea?)
Thoughts?
Educated guesses for #ASMS2026 for Thermo:
1. The bent trap advance can be applied to Tribrid (+MAP-MS) and Stellar MS (not QqQ), so easy new models there
2. The Mobilion collab shows they have software and hardware to make IMS work for Orbitraps, a surprise would be Thermo IMS
3. Benchtop Astral
