Last week Jolanda Lindenbauer joined the #Klimatag2026 in Vienna, presenting a poster on her current research using a large dataset from the Environment Agency of Austria.
Take away: conflicting results suggest that not all #pro-environmental behaviours have the same relationship with #eco-anxiety.

Jolanda Lindenbauer joined the group last year as a research assistant, where she supports a project on the risk perception of #microplastics. She is also writing her master’s thesis with the group, looking at how #eco-anxiety and different #pro-environmental behaviours are related to each other. 🏡
Tatiana Shevel recently joined the Environmental Psychology Group as a #PhD student. In her research, she aims to bridge #sustainability science and #environmentalpsychology through the #inner_transformation approach. 🌱
New year, new recap! 🗓️
2025 was a pretty busy year for us and our EnvPsy Group at @univie.ac.at has grown quite significantly. We hope to keep this momentum going in 2026 and are already excited to share all the new projects & papers we have been working on!
Seeing everyone’s Spotify Wrapped last year motivated us to put together our own playlist to send off 2025 and usher in 2026! (every member from our lab got to submit one song). 🎶
So, if you ever have the time and are in the mood to discover some new music, feel free to check out our playlist!
🎵 Music can bring us together and motivate us to make a change. That’s why you should check out our Environmental Tunes 2025 Playlist for a collection of songs about the environment and/or protecting it!

Kuni Saffana recently joined the team as a PhD student, having received funding by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) Scholarship.
Her research will aim to advance the use of #psychometrics in #environmentalpsychology in order to promote conscious and responsible consumption
Happy Holidays from the Environmental Psychology Vienna Lab!
See you again in the new year. 🎄🎆
Addi Wala works both in #urban #research and in applied participatory #urbandevelopment here in Vienna. He is our organisational assistant for the RESONATE project, as well as our communications and social media manager (meaning he had to write this in third person about himself 🤓).
The movie was followed by a panel discussion with scientists and local politicians about emotions in the #ClimateCrisis and opportunities for participation in #ClimateProtection in Vienna; with Christina (on the left) providing valuable insights from the field of #EnvironmentalPsychology.
⛰️ Happy International Mountain Day (11th December)! #MountainsMatter
🌁 Earlier this month @Christina Barz took part in a panel discussion after the new #documentary by Harry Putz about melting #glaciers (“Requiem in Weiß”) was shown at Sargfabrik.

📸 The EnvPsy RESONATE Team recently visited the Gastein Healing Gallery, which is built into an old geothermal ore mining tunnel. The occasion: The RESONATE Spotlight Series, a symposium bringing together Nature-Therapy experts and enthusiasts from across the DACH-Region.
⛰️ Happy International Mountain Day (11 December)!
#MountainsMatter – they are the world’s water towers and global action is needed to preserve #glaciers and #mountains for future generations.

@helenezillig.bsky.social visited the European School in Munich last month to answer questions and help students discover whether psychology is something they’re interested in—be it for their education, profession, or general future. 🎓
Great news that this paper led by the fabulous @todorova.bsky.social is out now, a collaboration between the @scanunit.bsky.social and @envpsyvienna.bsky.social @univie.ac.at. 👏 🎉 #EnvironmentalPsychology
Today Mathew White from @envpsyvienna.bsky.social talks about work from @resonatenbt.bsky.social, and Jürgen Preiss from @wien.gv.at talks about #ClimateChange #Adaptation measures
@helenezillig.bsky.social presents her research at the #ENLIGHTConference2025!
She merged over 1,400 nighttime visits to #BlueSpaces with satellite data measuring Artificial Light at Night ( #ALAN) to explore how the brightness of a location relates to perceived #safety and #wellbeing. 🌃

Meet our young #ant colony! 🐜
Named after the 10 other Work Packages (WPs) in the #RESONATE Project, WP11 does not provide us with data on nature-based therapies but can nonetheless teach us what is means to work together and care for our surrounding #environment. 💚
Ester Hernández is a researcher at IICG-URJC in Spain. With a background in #Biology and #Conservation Ecology, her doctoral work explores the social perception of arid ecosystems. 🌵
We are happy to have Ester visit our lab and help her strengthen the bridge between #Ecology and #Psychology! 🌉
Bio-psycho-social #Resilience: Can #Nature Strengthen Us?
The short answer: Yes! ✅
The long answer? That’s where research comes in – as Valentina Hampejs explained in her recent talk at the Planetarium in Vienna as part of the VHS-Science Program. 🧪
Anja Heske re-joined the team in March as a #PhD student. In her dissertation, she will explore how nature might benefit close personal relationships, working closely with the RESONATE project to investigate how natural environments might not only build individual, but also relational #resilience. 🌱
