Great read! I basically had this same discussion with residents at noon conference this week.

To be fair, this change was already under consideration by the working group, pre RFK Jr era, but a proposal for change hadn't been determined yet.

Good Morning!

New shocking discovery: ACIP and Real Housewives of Atlanta share the same plot structure.
• Filmed in Atlanta
• Chaos
• Wild claims
• Cast members powered by “I don’t need evidence, I have vibes.”

Tune in today to watch the continued erosion of public health, sponsored by RFK.

ACIP has officially just become the worst, trashiest reality show of all time. And I know that me talking about it right now is literally the only thing that the Trump administration wants #attentionwhores but I cannot emphasize enough what a farce this entire committee has become.

4 months ago 1 0 0 0

At this point, people on the ACIP just want to hear themselves talk because evidence, data, and science have left the building. They want us to believe them because they say it is true- but we are smarter than that. We know how to look at decades of literature and have the ability to reason.

Wtf is Tracy Beth talking about? The WHO recommends Hepatitis B immunization for all infants, ideally with 24 hours of birth, which is the policy in 117 countries worldwide, including most of the Americas, Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia and North Africa. Europe is the outlier...

Also, respectfully, you would have more time to hear comments or questions if you didnt defensively respond to every comment, Dr. Malone. Look to your past, pre-2025, ACIP chairs as an example...

Even the "set change" that ACIP has undertaken (getting rid of the round table and going with a "head of the class/lecture" set up) speaks volumes about their mindset and how much they care about any input from anyone in the scientific and medical community that isn't in their "clique".

A medieval church carving showing The Massacre of the Innocents in which Herod the Great, king of Judea, orders the execution of all male children who are two years old and under in the vicinity of Bethlehem. The carving shows Herod on a throne and 2 minions are putting infants to the sword and pulling them from the arms of their mothers

Long Covid Is Real -- And It's Changing an Entire Generation Long Covid is affecting hundreds of thousands of kids in America, and many doctors and schools refuse to recognize their illness.

“When you have a disability people can’t see, you don’t get the same level of empathy. It feels like the world has moved on.”

It’s shameful how society is gaslighting people who are experiencing chronic illness and ignoring an ongoing public health crisis.

When describing this shift in an article published in The New England Journal of Medicine, as well as in a livestreamed FDA press conference, Prasad and Makary—neither of whom has formal training in infectious disease or vaccinology—focused primarily on the implications for COVID boosters for young, healthy adults.

In the past, the U.S. government has seen fit to restrict or pull vaccines only under extraordinary circumstances: major new safety concerns, a better immunization option, eradication of disease. And those decisions have generally come only after political leaders consulted multiple scientific experts in the field, which Prasad and Makary chose not to do through their agency’s typical channels. (The FDA’s panel of independent vaccine experts is scheduled to meet tomorrow.) Rather, political appointees with preexisting opinions on COVID vaccines appear to have enacted policy unilaterally. Prasad and Makary publicly went after COVID boosters. But kids’ first defenses against the virus are likely to be that attack’s collateral damage.

I need every single journalist covering vaccine stuff at the FDA to be explicit about this. Thank you @katherinejwu.com.

There is a genuine open question regarding the degree of benefit for otherwise healthy kids to get seasonal COVID-19 boosters.

I'd love to know at what point an illness becomes chronic. 10 years? 15 years? When, RFK Jr, when? Bc apparently 5 years of disabling fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, pain, nausea, isn't long enough...
The callousness and hypocrisy of this administration is staggering 💔 😥🤬
