Saw our book in Exclusive Books at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.
Strange but it’s still hard to believe that Snakes of Eswatini is our book. We are so proud of the book.
Snakes of Malawi is out soon!

Today was an incredible day at the Hyam Institute.
25 years ago I conceived an idea for a database. For the past 25 years I was told it couldn’t be done and would never work.
Today we proved the doubters wrong as we tested the database for the first time with perfect results.
Do what you believe!
Today it’s been 100 days since we launched the Hyam Institute. (Yes we are counting our progress in days not years)
A lot has happened in those 100 days but we are most proud of creating our Nature policy - even though we are a tech company!

The Field Guide to the Snakes of Malawi will be a much needed update on the subject. It will also see us reach the halfway point on our four-book deal with Pelagic Publishing.
These field guides will be a major contribution to African herpetology.

Well it’s Friday again. I really don’t know where the week goes.
Yesterday I was full on with book edits for the Field Guide to the Snakes of Malawi. 🇲🇼
It’s always daunting when I start off but if I am not interrupted I can usually make real headway. Just photograph captions to list and I’m done!
Huge congratulations and well deserved.🥂
No wonder life is difficult sometimes.
There have been a few posts in the same vain this week but this is my own personal favourite and one that is stuck on my vision board. It is a constant reminder to me.
Congratulations to all the Oxford rowers who took part in the 2026 Boat Race 👏🚣.
A special shoutout to the Oxford women’s crew on an incredible victory, their first since 2016! 💙
We look forward to next year's race!

“Sustainable” timber isn’t always safe. Forests are being destroyed, Indigenous communities displaced and critically endangered species like the Malayan tiger are under threat. Demand the UK government takes action @friends-earth.bsky.social action.friendsoftheearth.uk/petition/sto...

Delighted that species are being protected. Hope it’s respected by the hunters and land owners. 🤞🏻
Why have we chosen to bank with Starling?
Choosing a bank was always going to be a challenge for us. We had to find an institution that matched our beliefs, ethics, and values, but most importantly, our mission.
We believe we have found that with Starling.

I have to say our next book on Malawi’s snakes is looking amazing. Thanks to Pelagic for their outstanding work on this book. 🎉

I’m not sure why I have an obsession with typewriters, but I do. Especially yellow ones!
I fear I may be turning into Tom Hanks.

Been looking at the first edits for our next publication with Pelagic Publishing. Thankfully there’s not too many to do.

Just found the Society Café in Oxford.
Great coffee and vibe.
Struck up a great conversation with a student called Rex, studying Mechanical Engineering.
Always love these impromptu conversations over a coffee.

I may have some exciting news on a new book shortly.
So thrilled!
Still waiting to see my first one 🤞🏻
