Well, I never got many views to begin with, but when I came back from my hiatus, it git even worse. It’s getting slightly better again, though. But it’s not the same as before I left.

A very dinosaur looking bird the Cassowary has a bright reddish orange wrinkled neck and wattle that transitions to a bright intense blue face with sharp angles of the skull visible underneath its skin. It has a beak slightly elongated and pointed downwards. It has a large eye with a yellowy orange iris that is glistening in the sun. On top of its head is a casque, which is an enlargement of the bone from its upper skull and looks almost like a Mohawk and is an array of greens in colour. Yup, Twitter is horrible. I barely see posts of people I follow there anymore. No fun at all. But some people from there haven’t moved over here yet ☹️ I would like to connect with people, but it’s pretty difficult on most platforms (at least for me)

Not sure about that, cause people don’t seem to care about bad behaviour and stuff. The Insta art bubble is fine, too imo. But I noticed that out of all platforms I use, my posts reach out to more people here than anywhere else even though I do not posting regularly.

I meant the schedule for posting here 😅 I finished my handful of birbs on time, but I simply forgot to post outside of Insta orz social media will be my death

An original digital illustration of Crimson Topaz Hummingbird perching on a branch by Loadofolbobbins. Facing its back to the viewer and its head turned to the right the main body feathers have a kind of ombré effect going from a deep rich red through warm oranges to vibrant yellow. Its head is a deep purple/red almost black with a long grey blue beak curving down at the end. It has two long thing tail feathers that curve over each other and are a deep purple blue colour. The other tail feathers just above this have an almost gol like iridescence. The back is a light blue inky splashy wash.

Mornin’ all today’s #BirbFest2025 bird is the Crimson Topaz Hummingbird and this here is my illustration of it….

Hello #Birbfest 🪶

An original digital illustration by Loadofolbobbins of a Lady Ross’ Turaco bird. With a deep rich purpley blue body and head it also has a pinky red Mohawk like plume of feathers on its head. The bright yellow beak curves and points down with the same colouring surrounding its eye like a mask. It’s perched on a large gnarled branch in grey browns with mossy bits of green. The background is made up of splashy ink marks that are light blue.

So here’s my offering for day 1 of #BirbFest2025 a Lady Ross’ Turaco, the punk of the bird world. Love the dark rich blues 😍
