Did you ever make it to Harburn Hobbies in Elm Row? I also remember they had a store near the Foot of the Walk before they moved into Edinburgh……just.
Blair Castle with the mighty Schiehallion in the background still covered in snow.

I was in the building around 25-30 years ago and certainly part - if not all - was a private residence.

I’m not sure that that’s the original place for that Police Box. Was it possibly moved from the Pirniefield end of Leith Links. Could be wrong…..
Ok. I’m not an aficionado on things gelato, but where does Mary’s Milk Bar rate on your recommendation scale?
Who needs a periscope on the side of their house?
It was happily moving on without my assistance.
What does the Scottish word puddock mean?
a frog or toad. Also called (Scot): puddock
I saw this puddock in Rodney Street, Edinburgh today. Very close to the aptly named Puddocky. #edinburghwalks #edinburgh #puddock #frog
Unfortunately a lot of rust on the outside back-facing panels.
I think I remember this box on Hunter Square @ South Bridge. Moved to the Lawnmarket to accommodate a ticket booth.
Are the Wise Ladies still collecting Blue Coupons?

Casselbank Street, with the gas mantle street lamp converted to electricity from pre-1920’s Leith. Notice the ladder stabiliser for Leerie to do his job…..
The search is over…….😎
Good shout. Thanks. It’s also been suggested to me Crombies in Broughton Street.
The search is on:
Where can I get hold of black bun in Edinburgh this week before Hogmanay? I’ve tried Scotmid, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, M&S and corner shops. Our local butcher used to supply at this time of year, but no longer. Any info appreciated……

On the site of Ronaldsons Wharf and the old Innes & Grieve whisky bond which was bombed and destroyed in the Zeppelin raid of 2nd April 1916.
This has appeared in Fettes Avenue and the vehicles, including Police vans, appear to be parked appropriately. This street and surrounds are used as a motorhome park all year round and the pavement is regularly blocked. Do we know who is enforcing this notice? #Edinburghwalks #parking #Edinburgh
I’m happy for it to be proven differently, but this was Box 2-D. Box 6-D was at Newhaven Harbour.
Anderson’s in Yardheads was always a well run shop.
Ah yes, the Renault 4 van with the gear stick within the dashboard.
Stafford Street Lane, Edinburgh.
Just imagine if the 12 or so coach houses had survived. #Edinburgh #WestEnd #edinburghwalks
They were knocking down the tenements in the Burlington Street, Breadalbane Street, Bangor Road area of Leith at this time and the circus set up there if so remember correctly. Opposite to Leith Hospital down towards the Water of Leith. Does that sound about right?

Grave of Dr.John Rae at St.Magnus Cathedral, Orkney, Scotland. Worked for Hudson Bay Co. in Canada & searched for missing British Navy crew in 1845, discovering the men had resorted to cannibalism. Ostracised because of this, but later memorialised at Westminster Abbey.
It is indeed a great gastro pub with an interesting history. Known as ‘The Jungle’ to Leithers in the 1960’s and 70’s, so it has definitely changed its mood, cuisine and clientele since then. #Leith #edinburghwalks
