Hey, @apnews.com , many readers (including me) absolutely do NOT want to read #AI articles. Give me human-written articles by human journalists, please.

Also, “Resistance is futile” is never said by the good guys.

The thing about DVDs, CDs, and books is that *I own them.* They can’t disappear from my collection when the publisher pulls that edition. They may disappear from a streaming site or service at any time, but not from my collection. I didn’t pay for a license that can be revoked; they are *mine.*

The general strike today, and the Whipple building blockade, and the march downtown - all amazing and incredible turnouts, but nothing is hitting me so hard as the masses of clergy who showed up to the airport to protest this morning. And I'm not even religious.

A bruise was my first thought when I read that.

Possibly. But TechRadar says that “ competing services tend to spike when one carrier is experiencing one,” not because AT&T or T-Mobile is experiencing a separate outage but because Verizon users try to reach out to those networks and fail to connect, so they assume the other network is also out.

It’s a widespread outage. According to TechRadar, Verizon is aware of the problem and their engineers are working on it, but there’s no timeline for when it will be fixed.

More on the Verizon outage. #Verizon #VerizonOutage

Yes, me too. According to TechRadar, it is a major outage. They say that Verizon has confirmed the outage to them and Verizon’s engineers are working on it. No timeline for when it will be solved. There are over 175,000 user problem reports on Downdetector.

Like millions of other customers, I am impacted by the current Verizon outage. All calls in and out fail, even when calling over Wi-Fi. According to Techradar and other sources, the outage is widespread. Verizon confirmed issue with TechRadar & are working on it. #Verizon #VerizonOutage

Really feels like just telling military to draw up plans to invade an ally should be an impeachable offense regardless of party

During the pandemic, a college friend of mine started a play-reading group over Zoom. I was blown away by Arcadia, which I had not read previously.

After several nights of leftovers, I made my mom’s traditional turkey casserole tonight, and froze it for a future meal. And we still have some turkey left! #Thanksgivingleftovers

@kaine.senate.gov , please change your vote on the CR. Kicking the can down the road for a promised future discussion/vote didn’t work last time. Pole will die without the healthcare they can no longer afford. (And yes, I know fed workers aren’t being paid—several of my family members among them.)

I voted early (last week.) Going to bed tonight very relieved by Virginia’s choices… and NJ, NY, and elsewhere.

I’m so sorry. I hope you’re able to spend some time with her virtually before the end. I’m holding both of you and your family in the Light.

Discovering nearly halfway through the shawl you are knitting as a gift that you misread the needle size significantly… and you’re working with mohair. (Hav you ever tried to frog mohair yarn?)

Photo of a pumpkin with a stylized cat face carved into it. The jack-o-lantern is lit from within by a candle. It sits on the weathered planks of a rustic porch or deck, with wall of grey vinyl siding behind it.

Another #hat for #ShowMeYourKnits! This is a baby hat I made about 15 years ago. I sent it off to our niece today for their new baby, along with a #babyblanket I started 6 years ago and finally finished.

It does look a bit like Noro, but no. Actually, it’s James Brett Marble Chunky. I had some left from making a wrap for a friend who had lost her husband, years ago.

It’s hat week for #ShowMeYourKnits! The collection of five hats were knit for the local women’s shelter. (I knit a lot more, but I can only upload four photos, and the other ones were all the same except for the color of the yarn.) The three single hats were gifts. #hats #handknit #knitting

Swatch using the suggested needles and your usual tension l, and see if you get the gauge the pattern calls for. If your swatch is too big or loose, try a smaller set of needles. I hesitate to suggest trying to change your natural tension because it’s hard to stay consistent.
