it is and an invitation to visit Larnaka and region this year
wonderful #Larnaka and region!
Close-up collage of spring flowers in soft focus: a nodding white snake’s-head fritillary, a central cluster of blue grape hyacinth, arching bluebell flowers, small forget-me-nots with yellow centres, and two deep blue Scilla blooms on a single stem, all set against a fresh green background.
“Sweet Month! thy pleasures bid thee be
The fairest child of Spring;
And every hour, that comes with thee,
Comes some new joy to bring.”
From “April” by John Clare (1793–1864). #WednesdayMotivation

'Ice Cream Man.' In July 1911, after an artistic epiphany on honeymoon in Concarneau, Brittany and a chance meeting with the Irish artist, Roderic O'Conor, Alfred Wolmark embarked on the pioneering 'colourist' path that he followed for the next two decades of his working life.
A collage of nine close-up photographs of daisies, each with white petals and a golden-yellow centre, set against soft green backgrounds, showing subtle variations in form and detail.
The daisy, April’s birth flower, takes its name from the Old English “dæges ēage”, meaning “day’s eye”, for it opens with the light and closes again at dusk. Its Latin name, Bellis perennis, means “everlasting beauty”. #FolkloreThursday
