Yesterday, AWMS ran a fantastic mid-year workshop with the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales focused on science communication and titled 'From Fieldwork to the Front Page'.

A big thank you to @pattfinnerty.bsky.social for pulling together an amazing event!

Excited and honored to be one of this year’s recipients of the Margaret Middleton Award from @science.org.au! These funds will play a crucial role in supporting our ongoing efforts to drive the recovery and conservation of eastern quolls on mainland Australia.

Field work can be tough - especially on weekends. Away from family, legs can ache, it can be brutally hot, freezing cold, or rain all day. But as ecologist, we mustn’t forget to look up and appreciate how lucky we are to do what we do. Taken today in Kosciuszko NP (drenched after a passing storm) 🌱

Hi Bluesky!

A photo taken this evening from my swag in Namadgi NP. As a conservation ecologist, I’ll be forever grateful for moments like this where the ‘work’ and wild spaces we aim to protect come together in some pretty spectacular visual poetry.
