‘The incel movement was once fringe. It’s absolutely not, it’s mainstream.’
Soma Sara, @everyonesinvited.bsky.social founder, explains how children are ‘falling victim to harmful misogynistic ideas about what it means to be a man’ online.

Today, Year 8 explored 'Navigating Relationships' in the first of 3 sessions with the charity @everyonesinvited.bsky.social. Pupils learned how to recognise unhealthy behaviours, support friends and communicate emotions, handle rejection and manage conflict in a healthy, empathetic & respectful way.
In our latest Substack piece, Soma reflects on hope - whilst speaking candidly about the reality and the weight of this work, and the stigma and taboo that still dominate this issue and remains a huge barrier to solving it.
Two weeks ago, our CEO and Founder Soma Sara attended Women Moving Millions in New York, where she spoke about the urgent issue of ending childhood sexual violence.
The recent election in New York City - and the historic victory of Zorhan Mamdami - has shown the power of grassroots movements and what’s possible when people come together in hope and collective action.
Rightly so I’m seeing lots of support for women & condemnation for #arsenal
As a wider issue rape culture in the uk starts as early as primary school. We all need to learn & be better allies for survivors. @everyonesinvited.bsky.social is a great place to start.

After the publication of our 2025 Primary Schools list in the UK & Ireland, we are building an evidence-based research action project on preventive education for Year 5&6 pupils, with a building-block style approach to equip children, parents, and staff with the tools to navigate these issues early.
Everyone’s Invited is currently developing a free, two-year pilot programme to address rape culture, sexual violence, and misogyny in primary schools - and we are now welcoming expressions of interests from schools who would like to take part.
We’re now on Bluesky, and what better way to begin than by sharing #AVisionToZero — the first global roadmap to #EndChildhoodSexualViolence, co-created with over 330 leaders & stakeholders around the world.

Young people need and deserve quality relationships and sex education, but in its absence often turn to porn to learn about sex.
With @everyonesinvited.bsky.social showing the scale of sexual abuse in primary schools, prioritising RSHE has never been more urgent.

This BBC headline should say ‘fined for SEXUAL ASSAULT’, however they know exactly what they’re doing here…
Softening what happened into “kissing player” downplays ASSAULT. It invites debate, doubt, and minimisation.
Words matter. Call it what it is.

Jaysley Beck’s tragic death is yet another reminder that rape culture thrives in institutions built on power imbalances. The system failed her. And until holistic preventative education exists and is accessible to all, across society, it will keep failing others. #JaysleyBeck #EndRapeCulture

🌟 "Curating my feed really helps me. I follow accounts that make me laugh & bring positivity, so I’m not solely consuming negative content. This really helps me!"

Today on #SaferInternetDay we asked our team what they do to stay safe online:
🌟"I mix up my news sources to avoid getting stuck in an echo chamber."
🌟 "I ask myself, 'where did I get this from?', 'who is this post benefitting?', 'can I back up the evidence myself?'.
Ofcom's 2024 Report which looked into Children and Parent's Media Use and Attitudes, found that 76% of children aged 5-7 use a tablet & 51% of children aged under 13 report using social media sites/apps. We need to make sure everybody feels equipped to navigate the fast evolving digital language.
In the words of the NAO, ""The lack of an effective, cross-government approach and a limited understanding of what works to help reduce these crimes, means the Home Office cannot be confident that government is doing the best it can to keep women and girls safe." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
In any situation there will be many factors at play, including gender, class, sexuality, and diasporic context that inform practice. We must consider these and avoid blaming specific cultures as a whole.💙
We must take an intersectional approach to dissecting sexual violence cases.
Intersectionality is a way to understand how multiple forms of oppression interact to create distinct outcomes.
Scapegoating certain groups distracts people from the real issues, reducing the focus on underfunding and the growth of polarising rhetoric amongst young people. Sexual violence and rape culture exists within every culture, we must not ignore this.
If we play into the perception that grooming only happens within certain ethnic groups, we risk obscuring the systemic nature of sexual violence, whilst at the same time fuelling anti-Muslim racism.
According to a study by Dr Ella Cockbain at UCL, there is: no credible evidence for a far-right stereotype that has spread widely in the media. Instead, the facts show that
85% of ‘group-based’ child abusers were white in the first three quarters of 2024.
Due in part to terminology used by mainstream media, the term “grooming gang” immediately connotes to Pakistani-heritage Muslim men abusing white girls, but this is not based in evidence. Home Office researchers have found that group-based offenders are most commonly White.
