Fungi may survive extreme conditions of Mars and space, say scientists | Discover Wildlife New study suggests microbes could survive the long trip to Mars.

Some fungi are resilient little blighters!
Cool story about how their discovery in a place where they weren't meant to be, sparked an investigation into whether they could survive a jaunt to Mars.
Spoiler - some can!

Before Ruth died, we agreed on her ‘ghost’ sign. Experts say it’s a powerful tool for working through grief I don’t believe in ghosts. But for the bereaved, receiving ‘messages’ from beyond the grave can help us feel connected to the departed

A really beautiful, poignant, thought provoking and heartfelt piece by Narelle Towie about the death of a wonderful friend

These crabs are racing up the US coastline – and scientists think they know why | Discover Wildlife The mangrove fiddler crab is being found hundreds of kilometres north of its traditional range. Here's what's going on

Mangrove crabs have been shimmying their way up the east coast of Florida & now live in the saltmarshes of South Carolina. That’s climate change for you, but should we now call them saltmarsh crabs?

Omg, I just found out what baby stingrays look like & I just can’t stop smiling looking at them. Baby stingrays are born live, called “pups” & are described as “smiling pancakes” or “ravioli”.

I have seen adult stingrays while snorkelling & diving & I hope to see a baby one day. They are adorable!

10 toilet dwelling animals: “I felt as though my penis had been severed…” — BBC Wildlife Magazine if answering the call of nature becomes an encounter with nature, remember, the animals are just as surprised to see you as you are them

What can I say, I'm a classy journo. For BBC #Wildlife, I give you "Ten Toilet Dwelling Animals" where I start with the sentence "Call me old fashioned, but the only floaters I want to see in my toilet bowl are the ones I make myself."
