An Icelandic waterfall fills the upper frame, plunging from a dark basalt cliff through a narrow gap before striking a dense cluster of moss-covered boulders mid-frame. The water doesn't pool — it fractures across the rocks, reforming into smaller cascades that spill left and downward through a rocky channel. The surrounding landscape is all dark volcanic stone and saturated lichen, rendered in deep blacks with occasional texture breaks where light catches wet surfaces.
The image reads as a sequence rather than a single event. Three moments of water moving through resistance — the initial fall, the boulder collision, the foreground scatter — give it a structural rhythm that the vertical format supports. The falls are bright against the cliff shadow; the foreground resolves into quieter motion. Something about descent made gradual rather than complete.

"Descent"

A waterfall doesn't fall once — it breaks, reforms, and continues down through moss and basalt. Iceland.

A long exposure of a little stream in the woods making the water looks quite unreal, like a wispy trail of fog.

Several red blooms of a Regal Pelargonium Geranium. Each bloom has several ruffled red petals, with dark veining and white around the edges. The anthers in the centre are yellow and the leaves are a pale green with serrated edges.

An orange-tip butterfly hovers beside a cluster of delicate pale pink wildflowers, its wings partially open to reveal bright orange tips against white forewings. Its fuzzy body and slender antennae are sharply in focus, while the green background fades into a soft blur. The butterfly appears poised to feed, lightly touching the flower with its legs.

Facts about the Orange-tip butterfly:
	•	The vivid orange tips are only found on males—females are entirely white with black markings.
	•	Their underwings are beautifully marbled green and white, providing excellent camouflage when at rest.
	•	They are common across the UK and Ireland in spring, especially in meadows, hedgerows, and damp grasslands.
	•	Caterpillars mainly feed on plants in the cabbage family, such as cuckooflower (lady’s smock) and garlic mustard.
	•	Males are quite territorial and can often be seen patrolling for females along field edges.
	•	Despite their delicate look, they’re strong fliers and rarely sit still for long—making shots like this quite difficult.

I want to take a walk
Would you join me?
I don't have much to say
Would that be okay?
Something about your soul
Just brings me peace
Maybe I wouldn't be
Such great company
But something in those eyes
Makes me believe that's okay
Even if my silence
Did somehow detract
Summer breezes
Under twinkling diamond blankets
Always finds a way
To make up for my lacking
You don't have to say yes
I would never dream
Of making you go
Where you don't wanna be
I just thought it might
Be some kinda lovely

A brilliant golden sun sinks into dark blue ocean turning the horizon a burning orange and creating an echoing reflection that glistens on the sand as the surf retreats. Footprints track from the left foreground to beach walkers silhouetted in the distance as two pelicans glide through the sky above.

Just a lil guy defending his mushroom.

We found a log covered in mushrooms and spotted some small hammerhead flies on it. Turns out these are feisty fruit flies and the males are serious about defending their patch. One of our coolest finds so far! #invert
