Giant daisies with buttercups and grass beneath.
The giant #daisies from some #wildflower seeds I planted last year have been thriving in the sunny, dry weather over the past few weeks. They are up to my waist as they face up to the sun. And the #buttercups closer to the ground are pretty beautiful too.
The narrow strip is Bertra Beach, viewed from the summit of Croagh Patrick on 17 May 2025.
The fields around me in Mayo, Ireland are glowing with them at the moment. Beautiful.
I feel like I’ve never seen as much speedwell before as I have in the past week or so. There’s even some right outside my garden office door.
A patch of meadow grass(es) with yellow buttercups, nettles, purple clover, a dandelion seed head, and more.

I’ll have to make the most of having a son studying there to make a few more visits. 😊
I took a lovely #StetWalk or two in Oxford on Tuesday and Wednesday, visiting my son. He brought us around the deer park at Magdalen College. It was beautiful in the sunshine.
Works every time for me.

I’m doing some advance reading before a new #editing job. The office manager is supervising and a loud robin is declaring his reign over the garden from a telephone wire. #freelancelife
I had missed all your action, @roisinm.bsky.social, but the card gave me a clue! Wishing you continued recovery. Here’s a happy cat photo from this afternoon to help.

I have abandoned it for work since starting it, but hope to return.

I was #proofreading my #garden today, under feline supervision and with a #reading break. I have found that idea more appealing than #weeding, so it’s what I tell myself I’m going to do.
And oddly, have we had any rain yet in April?

Two books side by side, The Cleaner by Mary Watson on the left, pale pink cover with a key image, and Nesting by Roisín O’Donnell on the right, darker pink cover with a coastal black and white photograph (rocks and water, the edge of a woman holding children close to the far right).
The value of #Mayo County Library and the national interlibrary loan system. I’ve just finished one book I requested and am about to start another. #library #reading #books
Just did Mouse, and she was exceptionally calm. Now we just need to capture Puss for a morning vaccination on Thursday. 🤞
Puss: This old thing? Oh, okay.
Alfie: This person who feeds me, talks to me and shares her bed with me is trying to kill me … again! I must escape!
Mouse: I’ll just lie low and maybe she’ll forget she didn’t dose me.
I’m putting it off till tomorrow. 😳
