Unless you've lived it, it's hard to explain how knowing your original birth certificate is sealed and not accessible to you psychologically impacts adoptees.
It's an invisible wall that reinforces the idea that we shouldn't wonder about our birth families nor ever want to search for them #adoption

I'm on another round of, I wish I had a manual for my body🥚, but parts of it are missing and the parts I do have I'm not sure of. When people happily talk about their body manuals, I feel an edge of envy about their certainty. Even after reunion there are so many question marks.
I wasn't an orphan. My first parents are still living. I have over a dozen aunts & uncles. No one bothered to ask them if they wanted to parent me. Instead I was placed in foster care & sold to the couple next in line. Ironically, If both my parents had died, I would've stayed with my first family 🥚
The one thing I hate most about myself is something I can never change. I was adopted. People did that to me. With no consideration of how I might feel about it one day. And "one day" arrived when I was 6 or 7 and really understood what being adopted meant. And it wasn't good for me. 🥚
