Positive feedback from a deputy head of a primary school ⬇️

“Absolutely loved Hug Words. Gave me goosebumps at the end. It’s such a beautiful, gentle story focusing on the small things that can bring joy.”

Had the absolute honour of doing a school visit to Amberley Court School. A school full of stars - pupils and staff. Compassion, curiosity and belonging in action. #SEMH

A green graphic shows the SBB logo and a small headshot of Dr Daniel Hayes, Senior Research Fellow. There is a quote from Daniel, which reads: "Children and young people’s mental and physical health has reached a crisis point. Despite this significant need for youth social prescribing, and growing momentum and interest, its potential is unrealised. SPYN is a fantastic network that has the potential to drive work in this space forwards by mobilising stakeholders, providing training and networking opportunities, and sharing good practice."

Hooray for PLR day! Thank you to everyone who borrows books from libraries - and an extra big thank you if you have ever borrowed Mud Boy. When people borrow books from libraries, they’re not only supporting libraries - they’re also supporting authors directly.

Feedback like this reminds us why stories are powerful tools for wellbeing.

Please share Mud Boy with children - it might just change a bullied child’s life.

Teachers often message me and it’s a pleasure to give support.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you so much for these - the book has gone down an absolute storm in Year 5 - just the right book at just the right time.

If we make any work from our discussions around the book could I send you a couple of pictures?

The hair may be longer, but the message is the same: #antibullyingweek is over, but the fight against bullying goes on. Kidscape does incredible work all year round, and Mud Boy is a great book for schools to use whenever they need it.

Message from a headteacher

"I was really intrigued to find out if someone had actually nailed the hard subject of verbal bullying in a story we would be able to share with all the children. I don't have the words to adequately describe how powerful a tale I find Mud Boy to be!
