Iβm excited to share that my PhD work is now published in @natcomms.nature.com! Big thanks to @davidsuter.bsky.social & @beatfierz.bsky.social for your guidance throughout this work. We show that electrostatic differences in disordered regions control TF search and chromatin invasion.

Congrats to @alexateslenko.bsky.social for the amazing work, and of course our colleagues @lcbm-epfl.bsky.social and EPFL for their support!
Our new study of chromatin ubiquitylation by variant PRC1 on the single-molecule scale: We visualize directly how vPRC1 ubiquitylates neighboring nucleosomes during a single binding event, showing a potential mechanism how H2Aub domains are established.

I am very happy to share that I was awarded a PhD fellowship from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) for my project about nucleosome depletion in @lcbm-epfl.bsky.social with @beatfierz.bsky.social. Looking forward to joining the BIF community ππ₯³
#SIRT7 is a histone deacetylase with highly specific activity on #chromatin substrates.
We just published mechanism-based #cryoEM structures of #SIRT7 on nucleosomes to understand its activity π
