Travelling back from #Paris π, where #EllynRedheuil defended her PhD at @espciparispsl.bsky.social. Inspired by our #DyeCycling approach, Ellyn did impressive pioneer's work on single-biomarker detection using @quantum-si.bsky.social's protein sequencing platform!
Rush! The application deadline for this #PhD or #Postdoc opportunity in my group is TODAY!
#smFRET #DyeCycling #nano-photonics & Co
Thank you perplexity.ai for reminding me of the key points of #DyeCycling π :
Dear single-molecule aficionados & #FRET friends & Co.!
If at the #BPS2025, dont miss PhD #BenjaminVermeer 's 'eternal FRET' aka. nano-photonic #DyeCycling work:
stop by his flash talk #195 (today 5:50pm) & poster #B482 (10:30-12:30). Cheers!
Our Perspective article where @scisonja.bsky.social and I discuss the potential of #fluorogenic systems for #DyeCycling in #smFRET is now out in QRB Dicovery.
Link: doi.org/10.1017/qrd....
Fluorogenic binders would enable DyeCycling on regular coverslips β instead of the zero-mode waveguides that we use so far. We discuss the pros & cons of a range of fluorogenic systems in the context of #DyeCycling and #smFRET experiments.
Comments welcome!
Srijayee & my perspective on
The potential of #fluorogenicity for single molecule #FRET and #DyeCycling
is now out in QRB Discovery as part of the Special Collection on Single Molecule Challenges in the 21st Century,
Guest edited by Felix Ritort, Giulia Palermo and Fredrik Westerlund.
Never gets old (for me):
the huge array of waveguides for our #DyeCycling experiments, imaged with our single-molecule #FRET setup by PhD #BenVermeer; zero mode waveguides fabricated by @sabinacaneva.bsky.social .
ποΈ Yesterday PhD #Benjamin won a presentation price at the LS2 sub-section meeting βΒ nice recognition for his careful #DyeCycling work! π’π΄π§¬
Many thanks to @beatfierz.bsky.social, #KatjaOdening & all for organizing!
Also great to meet the π¨π community, #SimonScheuring, #ChanCao, #WayneYang ...π
