They had a great time with this activity. I should have been a little more explicit about it being a nature-based activity & less about the playground equipment BUT they did lots of measuring & identifying angles. So, I’d call that a success ✅! #geometry #grade5 #year6 #math #outdoors #EduSky

Agreed! After reading #BoyMom by Ruth Whippman, I realized that boys really need this support. Their role models, stories, & expectations are all tied to strength or saving the day when girls’ are tied to interpersonal relationships. They need stories & examples of healthy emotional relationships.
Which ones are?
A4: the Choose Your Own Adventure story was difficult with #AI, but I was able to make such a great experience for my kids. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without it. I’ve now done two different stories and the kids ❤️ them. #CYOA #EduSkyAi
A3: I’m concerned about (1) bias, specifically around representation of voice & diverse experience (& white washing). I don’t know how to fix/notice/know when it’s happening (2)Respresentation in images generated, as I always have to be direct in representation across the spectrum. #EduSkyAi #DEI
A2: I mostly use @schoolai.com with my students, as I find it to be the easiest way to get my 10 yos onto #AI. I like them to use it to interview people they’d never get to talk to #EduSkyAi
A1: A detective 🕵️, #inquiry based activity for a book to explore the mysteries in a dystopian novel. A 72-slide Choose Your Own adventure story complete with real life activities. Pictures to illustrate my own children’s book. #EduskyAI #writing
Hi! Tia, 🇨🇦 teacher in🇨🇳. Lover of #DEI, #STEAM, #inquiry, and the #SDGs. All the things that make education creative and interesting. And #engineering, cant forget that! #EduskyAI
Resistence is NOT futile
Looks gorgeous!! I’m hoping to finish this before my child turns 2. He’s only 1 and I’ve been working on it for months 🤦🏻♀️. I didn’t realize how slow #crossstich is. I miss #crochet. 😂
There are so many classic, new, and amazing books that students can learn from that are imaginative, interesting, and inspiring. We don’t have to default and uplift books written by terrible people who work to eliminate human rights. #transrightsarehumanrights #transgender
This is great! I’m doing geometry right now and this is something I can quickly and easily do with my kids. Pics to follow…! #math #inquiry #outdoorlearning
A wooden, unpainted birdhouse
Nurturing my #wellbeing is important to me. I feel like this priority is so often over looked. I’m more productive, happier, & more focused when I’ve taken time to #meditate, however I do that. Let’s see what painting this #birdhouse will do for it. (I’m no painter so we’ll see how this goes!)
nice
Thanks! I actually just sent in an outline for a guest blog with y’all to talk more about what works for students in incorporating the #SDGs with the #GoodLifeGoals. But I could consider writing a whole thing about this for maths…. 🤔. We’ll see how this submission goes! #fingerscrossed
Happy Earth Day 🌎! Learn about #renewableenergy, teaching it, and how you can help advance the #SDGs. #edusky www.earthday.org/campaign/cli...
#Engineering is my first love, and it led me to the #SDGs, which led me to #DEI. This #EarthDay is a return to that, designing solutions to help students understand #renewableenergy. This brings me life! #STEAM #edusky

I’ve been thinking lots about this. Do you think they’d need a 2025-juje up? Or do you think the classic approach would work? Like… would it need links online that brought the story even more to life? That would work with a digital book better .. 🤔
Why teach students to think harder about the mistakes they make? They’ll be able to reflect and self-diagnose issues as they tackle challenges in the future. 🧠🩺
#metacognition #EduSky
Every #math class, my kids have to review their own work and write a short reflection on it. If they’ve made mistakes, they have guiding questions to help them tackle them. If they don’t, they have questions guiding them to extend their learning. It’s helpful for me to see their journey!
Whoops. #schoolAI
We have this discussion a lot about using #scoolAI. I’m trying to get my grade fives to verify everything they learn from it by googling the statements they think are true from the AI to find a second source.
This powerful project gets students flexing their creativity and analytical skills—as they make connections between their interests and course content. 💪

They need to make a come back!
It’s not as personalized. I’ve seen such powerful lessons delivered based on the needs of kids in that classroom, based on what they are going through at the moment.
It’s so meaningful to have students look at their own abilities and say what they think. Develops them into such great critical thinkers!
