Yep no probs. Start at north side of Duntarvie Castle M9 junction for Winchburgh with loads of shared use paths linking to Parks & Canal etc. Between waypoints 1 & 2 on screenshot the path now goes into the field around the tree line but currently not mapped. Otherwise upgrades to existing route.

The cyclist or wee flag at the back?
That’s more undulating country lanes without segregation. Quiet enough though for an experienced cyclist.
Indeed. Too expensive for Edinburgh but cheap enough for Angus? Make it make sense!
Dundee to Arbroath is fantastic now if not done before. Really scenic and great infrastructure to boot now.
The bit from Perth / Scone to Dundee is more typical NCN.
New river Tay crossing near Scone
New cycleway link to Scone
Broughty Ferry cycleway
Arbroath segregated bidirectional cycleway
Lovely ride (with headwind) from Perth to Arbroath today. Many bits of new cycle infrastructure to use. Great quality. Well done @anguscouncil.bsky.social 👏
Thanks Scottish Canals for sorting out some of the roughest roots on the Union Canal towpath at Wester Hailes. Also adding the link at Harrison Park onto Ogilvie Ter. However some very bad sunken sections need sorted too please 🙏
Quiet Route infrastructure in the sunshine outside James Gillespie’s school. There is a cyclist cycling through the filter in the distance and the sun is shining against the blue sky and through the green leaves of the trees.
Today, the transport committee made a big decision about the future of the Quiet Route
I’m pleased that we are finally (!) seeing progress which will (hopefully) see the retention of the route with all active travel measures intact 🚲🌳🚶

Thanks is there any signage on the tunnel side as I didn’t see any forewarning from Currie. I think some folk won’t easily cycle up West Mill Road and could divert earlier?
FYI - Water of Leith path is closed (with no signed diversion in advance) at Woodhall for resurfacing the defective newish surface. Assume for this week as wasn’t there on Monday morning?
@edi.bike @spokes.org.uk @livingstreetsedi.bsky.social #EdTravCyc @sw20.info any idea when it’s to reopen?
start of survey form... Sheriffhall Roundabout & A720 Bypass: Community Travel and Congestion Questionnaire This questionnaire forms part of a Heriot-Watt University's civil engineering transport planning project examining congestion, safety and connectivity around the Sheriffhall Roundabout and surrounding sections of the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass. The aim of this survey is to gather local residents’ and road users’ lived experiences, including how the roundabout currently operates, how congestion affects daily travel and what improvements could best support safer, more efficient and more sustainable movement for vehicles, public transport, pedestrians and cyclists

A pavement on the left with a wall and trees and shrubs. Next to this is a new cycle lane that's separated to the road with traffic cones
Queensferry High Street with lots of cars parked, double parked and on the road
New bike lane between Queensferry High Street and the Hawes Car Park is finally taking shape. When the rest of the project is completed the Hight Street is going to be a shared space which is obviously the exact design needed to combat the current carmageddon 🤯
Just reported #ScottishPower contractor for not allowing space for cycles to pass on Whitehouse Loan at the junction with Newbattle Terrace. No diversion signage on Quiet Route & pavement being used by cycles when space could allow for passing on road! 🙄

Burnt out car and molten oil/plastic slurry across Silverknowles Road North down to the beach. Road is closed to motor traffic, so clean-up may be slow. #EdTravCyc
At least this railway is already built… but still some tricky junctions / connections to the tram lines to resolve 🙃

Get well soon. Agree information could be better and clearer.
I meant as in a live map with the gritters on so you can see where they have treated before you head out. Like I’d adjust a route if I could. Will mention to Councillors.
Ouch sounds painful. Wishing a speedy recovery. Yeah a daily live map of routes gritted like the Transport Scotland one for named gritters would be super handy.
Thanks. Yep I use the grit bin for the pavements and road outside my flat to the main road but seems like hardly anyone uses the ones I see in the Braids. If everyone did a little bit it would be better for everyone but seems that attitude is being lost.
Leith, and Ocean Drive has also been very slippy most mornings hovering at or below 0 - one friend coming to grief on ice a couple weeks back.
If people need help with grit bins for some local do gooding with bins, a reminder that this page can help:
www.edinburgh.gov.uk/roads-paveme...
We found this the case with Whitehouse Loan yesterday also, which resulted in a hard fall turning right into Blackford Rd. Five minutes later we witnessed another kid fall at the turning off of Newbattle Terrace onto Whitehouse Loan.
Quiet routes need gritted, @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social

#EdTravCyc @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social Braid Avenue and Braid Estate side roads an ice rink again this morning with gritting seemingly. Walking like a penguin so pray for anyone cycling without studded tyres!

🙂 Good news #ActiveTravel - 🤔 probably
🙄 Bus again combined with 🚶👩🦼🚲 and not disaggregated
25/26 £189m (of which £20m+ went to 🚌)
26/27 £226m (includes "increased" 🚌 cash)
🤔 Also note 24/25 & 25/26 *expenditure* was significantly less than *budget*. So will 26/27 all be used?
