Phage therapy holds promise for combating AMR As antimicrobial resistance (AMR) increases, phage therapy offers promise not only as a treatment for antibiotic-resistant infections, but also as a potential alternative to antibiotics themselves.

As #AMR continues to rise, the search for effective solutions has never been more urgent. One promising approach is #phage therapy—a treatment that harnesses the power of bacteria's natural predators:

Superbugs thrive as access to antibiotics fails in India Antibiotics are overused by some and out of reach for others - fuelling resistance and leaving deadly gaps in care.

"The irony is cruel. While the world tries to curb antibiotic overuse, a parallel tragedy plays out quietly in poorer nations: people dying from treatable infections because the right drugs are out of reach."

I'm excited about how AI is stepping up in the AMR fight! It’s not just helping find new drugs, now it's helping personalize antibiotic treatment, boosting survival (like in sepsis) and slowing resistance by avoiding unnecessary broad-spectrum antibiotics. Huge win!

This article makes a great point: we need to shift STI messaging away from shame/blame. Preventing AMR means preventing infections. We have the tools to stop the spread—sex ed, condoms, info—but shame and silence get in the way. The fight against AMR is a human one, and casting blame helps no one.

This is an uplifting read. It's wonderful to hear how awareness of the impacts of AMR is spreading into the corporate sector.

AMR is like an octopus. Its reach will spread into many different sectors of our society. We can't even predict the full impact it will have on our world.

"Compared with bacteria, fungi more closely resemble human cells." This is a big problem! It makes it harder to find anti-fungals for ag that won't develop resistance in humans too. But the days of overlooking #antifungal resistance is over, so I hope we see many more developed in the future!😀
