This macro photograph captures the unopened bud of a striped tulip, covered in fine drops of dew.
Description and Variety
The flower has a classic goblet shape. Its petals are white and creamy with vibrant, artist-painted purple or crimson strokes.
The plant's appearance is typical of modern varieties of the Triumph group:
Flaming Flag is one of the most similar varieties, known for its lilac-purple "feather" strokes on a white background.
Rembrandt's Favorite also has a similar variegated coloring, reminiscent of the paintings of great masters.
Appearance Features
Texture: The petals are dense, smooth, with a slight satin sheen.
Details: Drops of water are visible on the petals, highlighting the freshness of a spring morning. Greenish veins, often found in Viridiflora-type varieties or young buds, are visible at the base of the petals.
Background: The bud is located on a long, straight stem against a background of washed-out green leaves, accentuating the flower itself.
This unusual coloring may be a varietal characteristic or—in rare cases in older varieties—a manifestation of the variegation virus, historically prized in Holland for creating unique patterns.
The freshness of a spring morning... Happy Tuesday to everyone! 👋🌷🔆

We Gave Homeless People Cash. They Bought Housing Not Drugs.
The evidence from Vancouver to Denver is undeniable: When people in crisis receive money, substance use goes down, employment goes up, and homelessness ends.
On any given night in the United States...
It's pretty weird to me how poor people get judged for buying a can of beer but a rich person with a passive income from capital ownership will literally brag about spending $1000 on a bottle of bourbon or wine.
It's absurd for anyone to assume people are poor because of their spending choices.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

"The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet a lifetime is often not enough to rebuild. They turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found."

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented.
They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed.
That energy is all around us.
And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Standing in the shadows of an ancient forest my heartbeat slows for I am surrounded by a life so much bigger than my own. The moisture in the air all but breaths for me. Moss is everywhere on all the trees, the ground...everywhere. A sunbeam finds this moment illuminating the treetops which glow with gratitude for the warmth on this cool morning
There is a place I know where the weathered wear their history with enduring dignity. No longing or regret, no word for judgment. They slowly change with the season while nurturing those around them. Unspoken yet reigns, their abundant value
