Now available! Interdisciplinary and nuanced, OUR VIRAL FUTURES poses a provocative challenge: Instead of continuing to assert that we can control and master microbes, we must learn to coexist with them. buff.ly/UXQQOHl #AMR #Phages #PublicHealth #PoliticalEcology @charlottebrives.bsky.social
Help needed! I'm looking for a 3D model of bryozoans to showcase at a science fair (3D printable). I want to bring these 'moss animals' to life for the general public! If you have a file or a recommendation, please let me know.

Another new paper out now: led by Amy Betz from the @bruceslieberman.bsky.social lab on how a variety functional traits did or didn't impact extinction risk in the Plio-Pleistocene-Recent western Atlantic regional mass extinction
Of the 16 traits considered, none was correlated with increased risk
Thank you @mu-peter.bsky.social !

Finished my first book of 2026, Macroevolutionaries by @bruceslieberman.bsky.social and @nilese.bsky.social. Itโs a wonderful tribute to Gould, every essay is enlightening, but the one on Kestrels is my favorite.
Thank you @kohngregory.bsky.social !

Yes, some people's legacies are complicated. For example, Watson. After all, though he was racist, don't forget his other traits. For example, he was also sexist. And also anti-semitic. And a data / idea thief. So let's not forget all the different facets.

Interesting a lot of recent theory-focused papers I've been reading about fossils don't acknowledge the vast amount of paleobiological literature on the subject(s) they're discussing. I'm happy folks are excited about fossils but also confused why folks seemingly aren't reading papers about fossils
Completely agree @daveyfwright.bsky.social !
