The 3rd year of this campaign to raise awareness that anyone can get lung cancer, and to help people recognise symptoms and improve early diagnosis.
Wouldn’t it be great to think campaigns like this were no longer necessary?

I was diagnosed with stage 4 EGFR+ #lungcancer in Jan 2023 after a year-long cough & being sent home a couple of times.”

If you’re struggling to get your doctor to check you out, maybe show them this campaign video.
Early diagnosis can be life saving.

A howl of logical outrage from @johnharris1969.bsky.social that let me know that @stephenunwin.bsky.social has written a vital new book.
You don’t have to be a @theguardian.com reader to buy this book, but it helps that they published this review!

In May, the chair of Thames, Adrian Montague, told MPs on the environment, food and rural affairs (Efra) committee that bosses were in line for “substantial” bonuses linked to the loan, on the insistence of creditors. The company needed to pay the bonuses, he said, “because we have to keep staff. It is a very competitive marketplace out there … If we are unable to pay bonuses, people will come knocking and try to pick out of us the best staff we have. That is not in customers’ interests.”

Am I missing something here?
The CEO and senior bosses preside over the most appalling management of a vital monopoly company, incurring severe fines, taking the business to the brink of collapse with phenomenal debt, and the Chair wants to retain them rather than sack them?
Such depressing reading on DfE spending, especially when so much of it is fully legitimate (Keegan et al), possibly virtually all of it.
Rules around Ministers’ and other exit payments desperately need to be overhauled.
This looks great 👏
An article in today's Guardian about the link between air pollution and lung cancer, particularly adenocarcinoma.

Wow - blown away doesn’t cover it!! All You Need Is Lungs is a finalist in the 2025 #UKSocialMediaAwards! 💟 A campaign with no media budget, no agency - just real voices from people living with non-smoking #lungcancer. Thank you 🙏 to all our incredible ‘voices’ for making this possible! #LCSM
Inquisitive young fox looking straight towards me lifting its head above a mound of ivy near the back door in my garden.
An afternoon visit from the local fox:
Disturbing in pretty much every sentence, @captaink77.bsky.social makes clear sense of the weird data about SEN units & resource bases. Clear, & uncomfortable.
Now you see them, now you don’t: The curious case of the vanishing resource bases and SEN units www.specialneedsjungle.com/vanishing-re...
@bbcspringwatch.bsky.social I thought you might enjoy these 2clips of a fox cub I’ve just seen in the back garden here in Banbury. The first shows it carrying an unripe fig that had fallen off the tree, but hard to spot as it’s not slo-mo!

Very impressed by this!
Thanks again Robert, that’s so impressive. Bit of a long haul but if ever I go there again….
Thanks; any idea who the artist is?
Where is it? It does look amazingly like an illustration.
When you read this article, how can we still be puzzled by how ordinary people could have behaved so abominably in....

I’m staggered at the gross insensitivity displayed by the #Conservatives in nominating Amanda Spielman for a peerage.
It is a disgraceful insult to the family, friends and colleagues of #RuthPerry.

The state of palliative care in Britain.

The training was for staff in roles across the surgery, along with their own GPs and others who join them as a training centre.
I’m very grateful to BCHC for taking this on, and hope it can inspire other surgeries to remind staff that #AllYouNeedIsLungs to get #LungCancer.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to argue that the significant increase in lung cancer and the change of type within that is just random bad luck.
We desperately need our government to face reality.

Fascinating hearing about goldfinches eating teasel seeds.
I was out near Tysoe on Tuesday, and saw a flock of goldfinches on a clump of what may have been teasels. As they fed I heard an occasional mechanical rasping noise. Is that typical as they feed?
This is such an important point. I had the privilege of spending most of my career in a special school.
Nobody could claim that every pupil (or member of staff) was happy all the time, but the vast majority were, for most of the time.
That’s what motivates you, and that’s why I stayed for 32 years.

Lovely to have #Winterwatch back on TV. I love the range of topics covered, and found this evening's section on ducks was a classic in terms of bringing the beauty and fascination of things you think are familiar to the fore. 🦆
If you have experience of palliative care, as a patient, family member etc, do try and take time to send your thoughts to this commission.
It would be great to see people with @egfrpositiveuk.bsky.social & others affected by #LungCancer to be heard here.

I went to see this exhibition at St John's College in Oxford on Thursday this week. It moves from works around loss and sorrow in Room 1, through to hopefulness, in Room 2.
A wide range of thought-provoking works, well worth visiting and taking your time over.

Dear BlueSkyers. Sadly I'm getting many reports of scammers pretending to be me here, incl messaging people with 'investments' . Pls share/help me spread word that, as you know, THIS IS MY ONLY BLUE SKY account (proved as my handle is an official MoneySavingExpert one). All others are scams
