I’m totally appreciating @accuquilt.bsky.social’s blog post today. It strikes me as a direct response to the censorship of the AQS. I see you and appreciate you, Accuquilt!

I used to recycle hardcover reader’s digest books into smash books for fun gifts. This is one I just brought back home. I made it for my dad probably 20 years ago πŸ’™ it has photos of his grandkids in it. πŸ₯²

One of my favorite places to spent time is at Stitchin Post in Sisters Oregon. I’m currently mentoring with Jean Wells. Yesterday was our group meet up and there was a beautiful display of Jean’s quilts at the Twigs Gallery inside the store. I’m always so inspired by her work. β™₯️

Pet portrait quilt of Enzo the Wonder Dog

Pet portrait quilt of Enzo the Wonder Dog

Enzo the Wonder Dog! I created this pet portrait quilt for friends of their beautiful Enzo. Enzo was a parade pup and this photo was his trading card. Started this project in a class at Stitchin Post in Sisters Oregon with instructor June Jaeger. 🐢 #quiltsky #petportraitquilt

A map of the convention center in Phoenix, Arizona. One of the rooms is marked β€œ129AB: Sensory Relief Space”

This is a screenshot of text from the QuiltCon website. It says: β€œNEW this year! QuiltCon Sensory Relief Space

The new QuiltCon Sensory Relief Space will ensure that respect and compassion is provided to people with invisible disabilities at QuiltCon. As many as 1 in 4 individuals has some kind of sensory need, including military vets with PTSD, patients with Parkinson’s disease, stroke patients, as well as autistic and other neurodivergent individuals. The QuiltCon Sensory Relief Space will be open at all hours to QuiltCon attendees and will be a quiet, dimly lit space with seating for decompressing from all of the stimuli of QuiltCon. Sensory bags, filled with items that can help lesson sensory overload, will be available for those who wish to utilize them.”

What’s this I see on the QuiltCon app map?? A sensory relief space! This is something I asked for in my post-show survey last year. Thank you, MQG πŸ‘πŸ»

I use it in place of sashiko hand quilting to quilt or add embellishments. No free motion, only straight stitching although it does have pressure control to assist in creating curves.
