It's so dry. The high level drought-tolerant scrub freaks are wilting. I have not seen a single zebra butterfly this year. Even my hügelkultur are failing

Another advantage for approved artists, is that I’ve added a ton of hashtags related to SciArt.
If they forget to add #SciArt or 🐡 while posting say, #paleoart or #SundayFishSketch, it will appear in the SciArt Feed. Reduces friction.
This is a main value proposition of following the SciArt Feed instead of just the #SciArt hashtag. Anyone can post AI slop on the hashtag.
But I’ve checked every contributor before allowing them to post in the SciArt Feed. If they do, I delete them as a contributor and all their posts disappear. 🐡
The SciArt Feed here on Bluesky is gated so I can keep Gen AI out.
If someone posts AI, I boot them and it disappears. I think it’s happened twice in 2.5 years. A worry-free feed.

Sorry that I wasn't very active here the last weeks ... The black dog was sitting on my art supplies ;) .
Here is one of my first #SundayFishSketch -es from years ago 💛
Colored pencil sketch of a very odd fish poking out of a hole on a reef. It’s grayish purple with what looks like a collection of little tree branches coming out of its forehead. The mouth is slightly open and shows some tiny little blunt teeth.
This weirdo, featured in some BBC doc or another, popped up in my feed. Unclear what exact species of comb blenny this is but he’s funky #SundayFishSketch
