In love with the clouds I added. I think it's the cute little things such as these that really give a game its charm.

Since I'm a pacifist, I tend to make games with non-violent themes. For example my debut game's about helping your friends emotionally and empathizing with them, even though it's technically a twin-stick-shooter.
The DREAMTONE demo trailer. Out now!
Experimenting with the idea of running save files on the title screen for very smooth game-loading ...
This is why I worked so much on Deepsea Alchemy a couple years ago. It's a game I personally wanna play, that just doesn't exist right now.
Subnautica world & discovery combined with Terraria-like sandboxy crafting.
It's crazy to me that there's still no other games like Subnautica.
Like I wanna play more underwater fantasy games that gimme that sense of awe like I'm the first to discover something remarkable.
Outer wilds is the only other game that gave me that feeling, but it's a space game.
This is a brand new game I'm making btw.
I'm calling it Laythrone, although I'm not too satisifed with the name and might change it later who knows.
The villagers can't travel too far to work, so the lumberhouses need to be close by.

Little sneak peek to what I've been tinkering on for couple of years. Excited to share more soon! ๐

A Steam AI Generated Content Disclosure The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this: AI-generated voiceovers for ingame characters. This is a indie no-budget production. Sorry :-'(
I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this.
The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all!
Games don't need VO to be good!
By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!
Announcing CASTLE AWAY! In which you build and command a flying fortress to slay the demons invading your world!
A quick-to-pick-up, run-based strategy game focused on crafting combat synergies on your little castle grid.
Let me know what you think!

Unpopular opinion, but a lot of this "doing it right" mentality is how we wind up with games all feeling the exact same.
Difficulty spikes, weird controls, ropey onboarding all of it critical to prevent games feeling like they're ground down and pumped out safe mush.

In frogs' boon you wake up frogs to give them your money.
It's a shame I didn't get a score for this in LD 58 because I forgot to rate other people's games..

Cool to hear that you're making a document like this. I find it really helpful to organize the digital stuff.
Helps a ton with getting in the flow when making something digitally and not getting stuck on trying to find something.
Getting stuck causes players to explore the world.
Dying causes players to think about what they're doing.
An "impossible" situation causes players to learn how the game works and eventually achieve the impossible.
We need to be able to design *some* games around these fundamental ideas.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me? Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
