I recently got like 3 bitchy comments on ao3, which came as a surprise because usually it's 99.9% positivity on ao3 and 0.1% AI bot spam. My go to policy is to block the user & delete the comment. Our writing is free content and not paid work. Don't like, don't read 🤷 What are your experiences?

Do you know that? When you're reading a fic and you're really invested, and you really enjoy every word but that pesky next chapter button brings you closer and closer to the last chapter and you know it will be over soon but you want to stay in this fic forever?

#Ao3 went down when I was about to comment on a chapter. Luckily I managed to copy it over to a doc, so I can post it later when it's back again but... The chapter ended on a cliffhanger and I need to know what happens 😭 i hope the archive will quickly be up again.

Every time I hear an AI company say "here is your option to opt out" it feels like, they just stole your car, sold it and afterwards will tell you, "ah yes, here is your option to opt out of us taking your property." 🙄 the car is still gone and they profited from it.

I feel though that there will be two standards in the world where big companies can do whatever the fuck they want cuz they have enough money so law doesn't apply.

Cuz if they get through with it, I'm sure we as fanart artists and writers are still not allowed to make money of copyright material 😆

Also if Altman is calling this shit "fanfiction" he should be aware that you're not allowed to earn money with it... So either the aggressive copyright infringement backfires on real fanfic writers and artists like us, who respect that, or hopefully this will hurt generative AI in the future.
