Ferdinand “was banned in many countries, including in Spain (where it remained banned until after Franco's death). In Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler ordered the book burned (as ‘degenerate democratic propaganda’).” #pbchat
THE STORY OF FERDINAND has not been out of print since it was first published in 1936. It outsold Gone with the Wind to become the highest selling book of 1938. #pbchat
