There are renewable powered alternatives to much of this. But only if other heavy users like Data Centres aren’t prioritised. Production of bio-fuels from feedstuff will have to be re-examined too. We are burning the equivalent of 15 million loaves of bread a day in Europe.

We need to find out what connection the Healy T'Raevelyans have with UK based Construction company Morgan Sindall.
And why their unwanted copies of this tripe is being circulated in Irish schools.

‘And the children’s book industry shook their heads in dismay, but they were not surprised,’ Mother Nature said. ‘However, they were puzzled by the lack of an author’s or illustrator’s names, and the 1990’s Photoshop text effects.’

Honestly, too few of us recognise that Trumpian levels of tacky, self-serving corruption have already infiltrated our political life in Ireland. It's not something we need to "watch out for". It's already here. #spéirgorm

There are only 44 female TD’s in the Dáil. Each female Minister who stood up to speak during the confidence motion was heckled and shouted over during their speaking time by Independent Ireland. It is not acceptable.

Would be really nice if the left parties/politicians that couldn’t move faster to support the protests would speak up on behalf of people like this who are shouldering the burden of them

How Ireland's far-right movement got involved in the fuel protests and tried to hijack them While many are protesting fuel costs, far-right actors and international figures are using the movement to push anti-immigrant narratives.

What a well written article that details the far-right element of the fuel protests. Well worth a read.

Fire and ambulance services to be curtailed due to fuel shortages caused by protests Meanwhile, Micheál Martin has said Ireland may is on the precipice of “turning oil away” because of the blockades.

Why, why is the government allowing this to happen? Last year they arrested and terrorized people who held a Gaza protest outside Leinster House. But now nothing.

Tomorrow morning we'll have a deep dive about how a militant group of outsiders managed to take control of a national movement and bring the country to a standstill. There's a lot of swearing in it.

Fuel protests are undemocratic and respect no rules The hauliers and farmers blockading our ports and cities have real problems, but they are going the wrong way to fix them, writes Tom O'Connor

www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/comm...

We are getting there in terms of getting to the bottom of the origins of this protest. Govt were correct to stand firm in meeting with representative groups only. We must uphold our democratic structures, we are lucky to have them. #speirgorm
