We found a U-shaped relation between infants' attention levels and the quality of maternal caregiving: both very low and very high attention scores were associated with higher-quality caregiving, suggesting that mothers may adapt their behaviors to meet their infants' attentional needs.

Our new paper is out in @science.org! By exploring the rich genetic diversity of Brazil, we show how fine-scale genomic analyses reveal that this diversity, rooted in Indigenous ancestry and centuries of complex demographic history, plays a key role in population health.
