I wouldn’t have either, if I wasn’t coming back from Scotland.. But good to know for future ref, it’s been hanging around with Eider for 2 years now and not as far as the Methil one.
Cheers. I think I’ve seen more Eider and Velvet than I’ve ever seen this year! I wouldn’t try for the WW at Methil, that a nightmare. This one at Seacliff was easy (if you were thinking about it).
Some footage of the brilliant White-winged Scoter at Seacliff on Sunday. Very special to see this bird swimming around and clambering over the rocks with his Eider friends. #birds #ukbirding #birdsseenin2026 @birdguides.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social #scotland #seacliff #lothian
Thanks for that Andy, never seen one so wouldn’t have liked to have missed it!
I think you are going to hit it at the rate you are going. I’m similar to you, can only really get out on Saturday’s due to work… I’d like to join you!
Where are you headed in Lincs, Frampton?
Wow. I was actually there on Saturday also… Nearly as good as my Common Sandpiper! #ukbirding #birdsnotseenin2026 #birds #highlandbirding #scotland #highlands #lochindorb
It definitely wasn’t easy to find mate.. Thanks, I only really missed the King Eider at Loch Fleet & definitely wasn’t expecting 4 new birds from it.
Thank you for getting me onto this and for the scope view Tom, much appreciated.
Thanks for getting be onto this Joe! Finally got home just before 9pm..
The HM was a bit difficult to find, but that sounds painful! Love Tree Pipits, heard a couple and saw a nice one in Abernethy. I felt a bit like you yesterday, although due to driving… 14 hours after leaving our accommodation in Scotland we finally got home. Some great stop offs though.
Fantastic Kyle
White-winged Scoter that thinks it’s an Eider. It followed them around, even leaving the water and sitting on the rocks like an Eider! At Seacliff, Lothian.
Surf Scoter at Methil, Fife.
Stejneger’ Scoter, with large sloping forehead like an Eider. At East Wemyss, Fife.
Incredible.. 5 different species of Scoter in one day! Started with the Stejneger’s at East Wemyss, then Surf at Methil and finished with the White-winged (that thinks it’s an Eider) at Seacliff. Both Common & Velvet at Fife also. Another 2-lifer day. #birds #ukbirding #scotland #scoters
‘Showing well’ an understatement, based on the pics I’ve seen.. Only seen a white-spotted one before. Have you done 300 before Kyle?
Woodchat Shrike this afternoon at Pagham Rife. Lovely to see in the sunshine.

Brilliant Gary
I honestly wasn’t.. but most of my non-Lincs birds are a by-product of going for a new bird, or as part of a family trip (Norfolk, Wales, Scotland).. so has crept up due a combo of those things really. Surprised myself that it’s 200 already to be honest!
Obviously Scotland is all about the birds… #tomatin #glenmorangie #whisky #scotland #highlands
Thanks Chris
Very nice views of an Osprey today. #osprey #birds #ukbirding #birdsseenin2026 #highlands #scotland

Ah, good to meet you. Had some great birds while up here, but failed on the King Eider today also. I might try again for the WW Scoter on the way back. I see are you having an amazing year so far.. very impressive!
Crestie yesterday morning. Easy to have a favourite Tit. #birds #birdsseenin2026 #ukbirding #highlands #crestedtit
Was it you I met briefly at the BTT on Wed, Kyle..?
Tree Pipit. Great song and dance routine. #birds #ukbirding #birdsseenin2026 #highlands
Ta.. a bit surprised myself, but it’s just crept up when going for new birds and having a couple of breaks away. 3 of these are heard only - Cetti’s & Reed Warbler, Tree Pipit. Should see the last 2, but Cetti’s proving very difficult, tried many times already.
