I’m so thrilled to say that through this event we raised £1,134 for Willen Hospice!
A huge thank you to their retail staff whose expertise and dedication made the event a reality 🌟
Graphic that reads “We raised £1,134 for Willen Hospice and their services” featuring a blue background and a star.
Last week I hosted a charity shop pop-up to celebrate the role of charity shops on our high streets and within our local communities - they’re a place to shop, learn more about sustainable fashion and donate towards incredible causes 👗
Just a snippet of what I’ve been up to this week 🌟

I’m excited to show off our incredible new music venue right by the train station which will be another asset to MK’s entertainment scene.

I’m so proud that Milton Keynes has been long listed for the UK City of Culture - we are truly a fabulous city with so much to offer from culture to art to food.
We should be able to work, eat and play in our city centre and this vision is certainly becoming a reality 🌟

Here in Milton Keynes we’re so proud of our City Centre with its arts, culture and shopping.
Being part of the New Towns Programme is so important for us continuing to grow as a city and make our city centre a place to be all day!
I’m proud of the work that organisations such as Q:Alliance have done to make trans individuals feel welcome and supported in Milton Keynes.
It was lovely to attend the Trans Day of Visibility reception in Parliament!
In Milton Keynes we celebrate and embrace all identities – kindness will always come first in our city. To any trans individual in Milton Keynes, you are such an important part of our city.
Every child deserves a fuelled start to the day no matter what. 🥣
I’m so glad that 1,578 children will benefit from these clubs. 🍎
They’re also integral to keeping more money in parents pockets and providing the childcare that so many families need.

Everyone deserves an affordable place to live in our city 🏙️

A growing city like Milton Keynes needs housing that works for everyone, that’s why I’m thrilled to see that building had begun on the Cripps Lodge site to deliver 66 new council homes in Netherfield👷
This Labour Council has already delivered new council homes on the Lakes Estate 🏡
I understand that the delays to this project have been frustrating for many and I will continue to engage with those in charge to fight for an opening date for the line.

As well as a new fully accessible station at Woburn Sands on the Marston Vale Line. It was great to attend the EWR event in Parliament to discuss these matters.
Many residents have reached out to me about East West Rail, a project that will be absolutely transformative for our city.
As the project continues to develop there has been consultation on many features to the line including an Eastern entrance for Bletchley Station.
Sharing one of the most shocking stories I’ve heard recently during parliament’s debate on menstrual leave.

A university will help Milton Keynes continue to deliver on opportunities for young people so that they do not feel they have to move out of our city. They deserve to build fulfilling lives and careers here.

Our city deserves its own campus-based university!
We have a thriving tech and science sector that so many students could be taking advantage of, especially when we are at the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor.
So, it is great to see that Glebe Farm has got a much-needed shop to ensure residents have access to essentials when they need them. Situated near the school, a park and the newly opened “Esquires” coffee shop – making it a hub of community activity.

In Milton Keynes we don’t just excel at house building, we also excel at building local communities!
Councillor Tracey Bailey and I have campaigned hard to see a shop on Glebe Farm.

Milton Keynes is a hub for innovation with 1 in 3 jobs being in the tech sector – many say we’re 5 minutes into the future!
I’m really looking forward to seeing the central role that the OU will play in this and the opportunities and growth it will bring to our city.
What incredible news that our very own @openuniversity.bsky.social is leading in the innovation taking place in the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor, this is backed by up to ÂŁ20 million of funding from the Government.
A Labour Government and a Labour City Council who invest in young people and communities, are also investing in opportunities and good futures.

It was also so lovely to see what connection meant to different people.
A huge congratulations to the winners and everyone who took part – the Hong Kong community play such an important role in making our city a vibrant place to be.

Emily stood with some of the children that took part in the competition.
Emily stood with a group of young winners.
Emily addressing all those who attended the event, a “Draw Together 2025” sign can be seen in the background.
In March I joined the Hong Kong Community from Milton Keynes and across the UK to celebrate the Draw Together Children’s Art Competition!
The theme of the competition was connection and the talent shown by these young people was incredible.
With a Labour led city council we’ve seen so much investment into our play parks from updating equipment to brand new ones!
Parks are essential to every community 🌳

Talking to Times Radio about Trump and Iran. Thankfully we have a Prime Minister who does what’s best for Britain, and isn’t just a puppet to the US President.

My contribution to the Westminster Hall debate on puberty blockers.
Young people deserve access to healthcare and support from medical professionals - they should not be the subject of endless political debate.
