Watched first episode of #TraitorsIreland. I keep expecting Mrs Doyle (Father Ted) to pop out with a tea laden trolly. She'd be loving it as they're all well grateful for the tea.

Reece seemed to have slipped Jade's and everyone else's mind when thinking about who was heavily persecuted for sweet FA.

Jessie has the Best Traitors quotes ever! Love her. Uncloaked: "I'm not just a daft lass that wears yellow and orange". Superb.🤣 #thetraitorsuk #traitorsuk

Pottery sherds from Neolithic sites along the Syria-Turkey border may have been part of ceramic pans used to bake focaccia-like breads, which likely were first enjoyed some 8,400 years ago in Mesopotamia.

In England report to a local Finds liaison officer as part of the Portable Antiquities scheme. PAS have a website. Museum or Council should be able to put you in touch with a local FLO. Get a GPS location for where you found it, that's really helpful. Looks like a polished axe. Could be Neolithic.

Wow so teeny. Good spot! Fond memories of post-ex hours spent 'sorting'. Surprisingly relaxing once you were in the zone.

1/ My good friend @ronimore.bsky.social finally saw the actual Nebra Sky Disc, and not just my necklace, so it's a good opportunity for a short archaeological #thread. Let's start. >>

1/ On the eve winter solstice, a fairly crazy archaeological story. A #thread.

In 1915, the Englishman Cecil Chubb, went to an auction to buy curtains for his wife, instead, he ended up buying a tract of land and the monument that stood on it, Stonehenge. >>

Me on the flip side of the year in 1997. A summer solstice photo from a conference trip, when they let a bunch of archaeologists loose into #Stonehenge and we didn't need dress in flowing robes either. Walked up the avenue approach mostly running to coincide with sunset #standingStoneSunday 📸 my own

Thanks, makes me wonder if it was potentially 'dressed' too then or slotted into some construction for display.

Fascinating and unnerving at the same time. Is the neck or body slightly serpentine, scaled or am I just seeing that?

Early photo capture of Damascus. Love this forest of apricot trees. It reminds me of times past digging in northern Syria, where the Arabic phrase "tomorrow there will be apricots" was used lots.
