The leader of the group, Meinir is an apprentice of the greatest sorceress in Felis. Suddenly Meinir’s master mysteriously vanishes in a time of crisis, and the young apprentice volunteers to go on a diplomatic mission to find her. Meinir is a determined Devon Rex with a height complex who is passionate about learning new things. She is a beginner-friendly character with access to long-range spells and strong physical attacks using her master’s sceptre.

A former thief blessed with good luck. Having grown bored never getting caught once, Fortuna joins her group on a dangerous mission for the sole purpose of finding a decent challenge where she has no choice but to confront her foes head-on. Nothing impresses this Japanese Bobtail these days, and she attempts to make the mission extra hard for herself, to the detriment of her teammates. Using her fishing rod, Fortuna excels at fighting from a distance and setting up elaborate combos with her coin tricks.

A retired field medic who works as a librarian. Gudrun is a gentle Norwegian Forest Cat who defuses Meinir and Fortuna’s conflicts with each other through her compassion and fondness for baked treats. Her power to heal works on both organic beings and inanimate objects. Gudrun’s weapon of choice is a book from which she fires off its torn-out pages as projectiles and reattaches them with her healing hands. She moves slow but has high defences and deals large amounts of damage.

This was a hypothetical video game concept that I came up with for last year's bachelor thesis. To summarise, it's a fighting game inspired by games like BlazBlue, Street Fighter and Red Earth. I've been interested in creating more characters and fleshing out the world.

Tails is my favourite character, so it's always nice to see him doing cool stuff like throwing concentrated wind spheres of destruction.

I laugh, cry, and feel deeply moved by the characters and stories I create.

What I truly want is to share that same emotion and intensity with those experiencing my work.

I still feel far from that goal, which is why I keep drawing and striving to improve.

Wearing athletic tape may not be as cool as using the Spin Dash or the Homing Attack, but it's sound advice nonetheless.

The Hulder is a creature from Norwegian folk tales known for having the appearance of a beautiful woman and luring in unsuspecting people. I drew two sides of the character, her disguised self in broad daylight and her real form shrouded in darkness.

[Jan. 4, 2024] Tried my hand at drawing Sonic characters in my own style instead of replicating their official designs. I took some inspiration from Sonic's movie design, mostly in proportions and muscle definition. Sonic is naturally a fast runner who hits like a truck, so I gave him both small curvatures in his legs, sharp lines in his arms and a square torso to balance out the stylistic and realistic aspects of the design. Head spikes were made more flowy to make it look like they're floating in the wind, and small spikes jot out between bigger spikes to make him look more scrappy. Tails was much easier to redesign because he lacks some of Sonic's design quirks like the conjoined eyes and the side mouth, and he lends himself better to my more realistic drawing style. Since he's a young boy half Sonic's age, I drew him pudgier and with next-to-no muscle definition in his limbs. I also emphasised the mechanic side of him by giving him thick work gloves and blue steel-toed boots that complement his orange fur.

[Jan. 4, 2025] Proportions are lankier to work better with action scenes. Sonic's design takes more inspiration from his movie design, with added details to the glove cuffs and outer parts of the arm being made blue so they look more furry. Shoes are a combination of movie versions and the Light Speed Shoes from Sonic Adventure, while the soles reference dash pads from various games. Head spikes are less flowy and bigger, and the ears are bigger and pointier. The tan fur also streams to hands and feet in reference to Shadow the Hedgehog. Tails's hair is slightly more fuzzy and voluminous and grows out in the back like in his early Classic design. Boots have white squares on the heel, and the belt buckles are made simpler and switch the colours from silver to dark blue.

Here's a comparison of illustrations I did of Sonic and Tails on January 4th last year and today. Having drawn Sonic fanart almost non-stop, my designs of the two have changed quite a bit over time, as well as added a couple new things...

2024 was a productive year for me when it came to drawing, as I both worked on my bachelor thesis in visual arts and got addicted to drawing fanart, mostly of the Sonic the Hedgehog series (so to any Sonic fans stumbling onto this account, I hope you'll look forward to it).

Polaris is the chief of a tribe of dragons called the Draconis. According to the Draconis’s beliefs, Polaris is the 95th incarnation of their deity, Aster, with the latest in line being the 108th. Every one of them is characterised by their white fur, pronged horns and lack of a tail, and blessed with the power to control and combine fire, ice and lightning. Each incarnation has their unique way to handle their powers, and Polaris’s method is to channel his powers through his limbs for enhanced physical attacks. While he shows no mercy to people who anger him, it takes a lot to invoke Polaris’s wrath, and is otherwise a friendly, approachable and wise leader.

Good thing it's a Pokémon. You just hit yourself in confusion and faint.

I drew this one on acid-free paper, giving the drawing a grainy texture, and I mostly drew with coal pencils because I wanted to emphasise on shadows. I was especially satisfied with the black background and white outline around Mimikyu, some of the blood splatter around Weavile and the shading on Hypno.

What I like about reading Pokédex entries is that they don’t sugarcoat how cruel and merciless some Pokémon can be beneath their cuddly appearances.

Illustration of Ori and Sein done in the style of SSBU character renders. Tried to replicate the official character renders as well as I could, including adding the faint purple highlights on parts of the body. Took me a little over 3 hours from sketching it on paper to tracing it in Krita.

Here's a batch of sketches I made as part of an art school assignment. I wanted to create a story about an animal that adopts a fantasy creature, and came up with a polar bear and a dragon. The dragon originally had wings, but they were too hard to draw.
