A Black-tailed Godwit in spring on route to its breeding grounds in Iceland with a wee stop over in Village Bay. There aren't many smarter waders in their summer finery!

Spent a lot of time looking at Cowberry leaves over the weekend looking for various micros, here are two which I think are Coleophora glitzella and Coleophora vitisella!

Awesome pic 👏, I don’t get why birds don’t just pick them off when they are like that, is the camouflage really that good?!. I only seem to get results with the lure when it’s warm ie >14/15c and breezy, when it’s cold or calm just doesn’t happen!

Been seeing some really interesting egg-laying behaviour from female Rannoch Brindled Beauties away from the usual fenceposts in the last few days. So far seen eggs laid in cracks in crustose lichen, other lichens, sphagnum and Cross-leaved Heath! #teammoth

Battle today at Loch Arkaig nest 2 between resident female Dorcha and male and female residents from Loch Arkaig nest 1, Garry (LV0) and Aurora (536). Male JJ4 was also in the mix, who has periodically been seen on nest 2 since yesterday. Plenty of dive bombing going on.
