Use the attached Google sheet to keep track of how they do. It adds a “Wisdom of the Crowd” element to it.

I’ve update my Super Bowl Prop Bet activity for this year. It has some of my favorite props yet. Share results with me if you use it with your students. classroom.amplify.com/activity/679... #iTeachMath #MathSky
A little holiday fun where kids look up the cost of buying each gift from the 12 Days of Christmas. Let me know how I can improve it. #iTeachMath classroom.amplify.com/activity/692...
@mathforlove.bsky.social can’t wait to see your presentations at the Montana Teachers’ Convention. I used your prime factor circles in @polypad.bsky.social to teach concepts in my math intervention classes. Looking forward to learning more.
@alyankovic.bsky.social thank you for a great concert in Montana. My wife and I both have enjoyed your music since we were young. To share tonight with our daughter was extra special. You and your band were amazing.
Any presentation by Dave is worth seeing.
Made with love (and equations). 💕

@meninblazers.bsky.social has anyone heard from Rog? Will we see him in some highlights streaking on the pitch at Goodison?
#iTeachMath #MathSky results from my classes’ Super Bowl Prop Bets activity. They would have lost almost $700 if we would have bet their picks. Glad I’m to cheap to bet.
Then I used the wrong “you’re”. Strike 2 😁
Your right. Crap. I need to look at it again. Thanks for pointing it out.
#EduSky #iTeachMath Students pushed back today on changing mixed numbers to fractions before dividing them. I finally showed them the first 3 steps to dividing while leaving them as mixed numbers. All but 1 student caved after seeing this.
I looked back at the results from the three years I have run this. The first year they would have been up $20. Last year they would have been down $186. The second year they would have been up $1500, most of that coming someone scoring a touchdown and then also scoring the 2-pt try (an “octopus”)
Just updated my Super Bowl Prop Bets activity for this year. If you use it let me know how your class does. #iTeachMath #MathSky teacher.desmos.com/activitybuil...
Same link as before.
Just updated it today with some new beadwork in it.
I might update it in the next week or two with some new pictures I have.
I have a middle school activity I do with Native American beadwork and transformational geometry. I’m sure you can adapt it to your needs. Here’s a link. teacher.desmos.com/activitybuil...
The earrings were done on simple frames. I’m not sure where they got them from. Let me know if you need anything else. I will be updating the activity in a couple weeks with some new examples of beadwork a student shared with me today.
The geometry lesson is in Desmos Classroom. Here is the link teacher.desmos.com/activitybuil...
The history of beading was a presentation by two teachers from our Indigenous Education Department. They used Rocaille beads. These are pictures of the directions the kids followed
Totally agree with Kathy. Being a Desmos Fellow is the best thing that has happened in my career. Take the chance and apply.
Today was the first day of my Math Lab kids making beadwork earrings. We did a lesson on Rigid transformations in Native American beadwork and the history of beadwork before this. Here are some pictures. #iteachmath #mtbos
This week I’m doing something new. I ended last week showing rigid transformations in Native American Beadwork. I have guest speakers this week on the history of beading and then kids will make their own beadwork. We will ask them to show the math in their work.
The kid smiled. I said how I love teaching like this because kids acting like kids helps us learn more math. The kid had a huge grin and said “That’s why this class is fun.” Made my day. #iTeachMath #EduSky
I was doing a Desmos Classroom lesson today on proportional relationships. I asked “If you buy 4 lbs. of chicken tenders how much does it cost?” Most of the class says “$0”. One kid says “$5”. I then went into how when you order and there is a shipping fee that is not proportional. 1/2
Thanks. I will use it in the next few weeks.
Here’s a link to my fraction operations collections. teacher.desmos.com/collection/6...
Most of them are self-correcting practices. The first 5 are the ones I did with Polypad. They need some work but it’s a start. I would love to see how you would improve them.
I’ve done some stuff with Desmos Classroom and Polypad for fraction work. It’s probably not at the level you need but it could be a starting point for someone.
