If eradication of invasive wild pigs is proceeding so well, why do I keep getting this in my email in places that the province of saskatchewan swears has no pigs?
This is ludicrous. The Government of Alberta is requiring 30% up front security for renewable energy projects, meanwhile Alberta holds less than 1% of the $260 BILLION needed to cleanup oil and gas disturbance across the province. www.theglobeandmail.com/business/art... #ABLeg #ABPoli #CDNPoli
Here's a map showing orphan sites across Alberta. The problem is MASSIVE & only getting worse as more companies go under. The AER says there's another $2.37 BILLION worth of liabilities held by companies in "high financial distress." Industry needs to pay what they owe for cleanup. #ABLeg #ABPoli
“Farmers & landowners across Alberta like me trusted the O&G companies to clean up these wells on our lands once they’ve stopped producing, but many energy companies have betrayed Albertans and dumped their cleanup duties onto everyone else.” #cdnpoli #ableg

LOCAL NEWS: Environmental groups publish report on how logging proposal could wipe out two caribou herds in Alberta
LOCAL NEWS: Op-ed: Unsustainable logging practices and unfair trade arguments threaten Alberta's caribou herds
OP-ED: Irony is one of Alberta’s most sustainable products. A current example is provided by the Weyerhaeuser Company, an American timber giant, which is proposing to clear-cut log the remaining core forested winter range of two Alberta caribou herds.

@youralberta.bsky.social knows this plan will drive the Redrock-Prairie Creek and Narraway caribou herds to extinction. Their own data shows it. Our report brakes down how this plan fails to protect caribou.
This week, AB held the 1st public session re:draft Upper Smoky SRP. This plan was supposed to protect caribou. But, we heard from staff that the goal is economic development with NO INTEREST in what happens to caribou.
This government will be responsible for the extirpation of 2 caribou herds in AB
LOCAL NEWS: Caribou herds will be destroyed under Alberta government draft plan, say conservation groups
Go vote!
We weren’t expecting much from the #UpperSmoky draft and Gov of Alberta still disappointed us deeply.
This plan was supposed to be about #caribou recovery and it turned out to be a plan for extinction
Some great Instagram slides from @commonhorizoncommun.org highlighting some of the major problems/risks with Alberta's draft Mature Asset Strategy for cleaning up oil and gas wells (with taxpayer money). #ABleg #ABPoli #CDNPoli
📢Reminder: The job posting is open until Sunday!
Cleanup costs for conventional oil & gas "liabilities" in AB may exceed $100 billion. Our schools, hospitals & other public services are consistently underfunded, yet the govt plans to use taxpayer money to let companies off the hook for cleanup. This is corporate welfare. #ABLeg #ABPoli #CDNPoli
Wild Lands Advocate By Alberta Wilderness Association. Birds and the Beetles: Pollinators are not just bees, and their decline or loss signals a hurting ecosystem. Albertawilderness.ca
📢Let's talk #pollinators - it's important to remember that they are more than just bumble bees, and their decline or loss signals a hurting ecosystem. Read about it in our newly published #Spring Wild Lands Advocate!

Please, please, pleaseeee do not eat meat from #CWD positive deer 😞
Help us tell the AB government that we do not want “harvest preserves” in the province!
One of our biggest concerns is the spread of #ChronicWastingDisease, a fatal disease in cervids 🦌 , everywhere in the province!

#Conservation easements are a great success story for Alberta — they've permanently conserved ~400,000 acres of ecologically-valuable land. But lately, the idea of them seems to cause anxiety.
