#Stuttering is a motor speech disorder that is quite common in the general population. Most causes of stuttering are unknown.

So far 5 rare genes have been identified to cause stuttering in some individuals: GNPTAB, GNPTG, NAGPA, AP4E1 & PPID

SLP-related research into all the conditions #SLPeeps treat just got a whole lot harder. Indirects are funds on top of a grant award that keep the lights on, fund staff, pay for supplies, buildings, internet, computer access, etc etc etc… hamstring them is a blow to research #SLP #bskySPEECHIES

How America’s Fire Wall Against Disease Starts to Fail Changing the membership of an obscure advisory committee could have an outsize effect on Americans’ protection against disease.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is currently stacked with academic experts well versed in the science of vaccines. A new secretary of Health and Human Services could rapidly change that, Katherine J. Wu writes.
