The periwinkle trailed its wreaths... - W. Wordsworth.

Spurs’ logic-defying season proves something has shifted ... That Tottenham stand a chance of being relegated from the Premier League is something the modern footballing structure is supposed to guard against – until it doesn’t

Pope blasts colonization of minerals in Equatorial Guinea, headed by Africa's longest-serving leader Pope Leo XIV has denounced the “colonization” of minerals and the “lust for power” in Equatorial Guinea.

apnews.com/article/afri...

The discovery of offshore oil in the mid-1990s transformed Equatorial Guinea’s economy virtually overnight, with oil now accounting for almost half of GDP and over 90% of exports.
But it seems oil very often breeds poverty and corruption…

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

I have always been a big fan of Tim Cook, and likewise, Steve Jobs, but if Steve was not taken from the Planet Earth so young, and ran the company instead of Tim, the company would have done well, but nowhere near as well as it has under Tim. For me it began with a phone call from Tim at the beginning of my First Term. He had a fairly large problem that only I, as President, could fix. Most people would have paid millions of dollars to a consultant, who I probably would not have known, but who would say that he knew me well. The fees would be paid but the job would not have gotten done. When I got the call I said, wow, it’s Tim Apple (Cook!) calling, how big is that? I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to “kiss my ass.” Anyway, he explained his problem, a tough one it was, I felt he was right and got it taken care of, quickly and effectively. That was the beginning of a long and very nice relationship. During my five years as President, Tim would call me, but never too much, and I would help him where I could. Years latter, after 3 or 4 BIG HELPS, I started to say to people, anyone who would listen, that this guy is an amazing manager and leader. He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes don’t. Anyway, Tim Cook had an AMAZING career, almost incomparable, and will go on and continue to do great work for Apple, and whatever else he chooses to work on. Quite simply, Tim Cook is an incredible guy!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Here's Trump encouraging business execs to "kiss my ass" in order to get special favors from his government. He doesn't even bother trying to hide the rampant corruption.

Cancel the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Trump will be guest of honor at the “nerd prom,” with journalists serving as suck-ups

Journalists planning to honor Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner have a choice:
A. Party with the dictator, wear fancy clothes and network to boost their careers.
B. Stand up for democracy by staying home.
They’re going to choose A. It looks terrible now. It will look worse to history.

Might I suggest Tulsi Gabbard next?

Donald Trump on potentially committing war crimes in Iran:

“It’s not my choice.”

Whose choice is it then?!

This guy is unfit.

Period.

You don’t need large parks to make a difference. We don’t have enough green space in Kingston.

We knew that. He knew that.

Who was running the show and why didn't Labour clean out its house before taking over Downing Street.
Everyone linked to Epstein, or lobbying for Epstein pals, should have been shown the door.
There's something else perhaps? Israel?

Opinion | Trump says Cuba will be ‘next.’ Here’s what he doesn’t get. Cuba needs real regime change, not a Trump-friendly despot.

Instead of promoting democracy, Trump is seeking to install deferential dictators. As he said, “When somebody’s nice to me, I love that person… even if they’re bad people.” Installing obsequious autocrats may gratify his ego, but it’s hard to see why it serves U.S. interests. wapo.st/4vLxQfs

🚨 Toxic pesticides banned in other countries are still being sold freely across Africa and traces are turning up in our food. Sign this petition to demand the African Union ban them now: 👉 act.gp/427FrqN

So it’s 7 am in #Jamaica and already, the police (“To serve and protect”) have already shot one person. They have already killed over 100 people, mostly young men, this year and killed five people in 24 hours yesterday. NO body cameras worn.
