Wonderful 🖤
This painting, titled "L'escalier" (The Staircase), was created by French painter Marc Chalmé, known for his mastery of shadow and light, often compared to Vermeer. His work captures "still light" in landscapes, still lifes, and scenes like this.

That's a beauty!
Bare trees atop a dark hillside are backlit by the eerie glow of a park lamp on a foggy, grey morning.
An old building in Jerome Arizona in the middle of land with hills in the background. This are is a big tourist area that includes ghost tours. The town was a mining hub from the later 1880's to 1950's.
“Art is a kind of mining," he said. "The artist a variety of prospector searching for the sparkling silver of meaning in the earth.”

Picture of the week - Odesa…😢
A colour photograph of a vibrant red leaf against the bright blue or the sky. There are some small wispy clouds as well. I think the leaves are a red Acer.
Lovely weather in West Wales on the weekend.

My flower painting of dandelions
Several boathouses lined against the hill in a lake. There are trees around them and a branch hanging in the upper right corner.

You're welcome I love this photograph 🧡

A collection of six black and white photographs arranged in a grid, showcasing a moody, street-photography aesthetic. Top row: On the left, a close-up of a person in a beanie and leather jacket holding a Sony camera to their eye. On the right, a multi-layered, double-exposure-style street scene showing a person standing in a city reflection with architectural elements and soft light flares. Middle row: On the left, a gallery wall titled "OUTSIDERS" featuring a grid of black and white photographs and text snippets. On the right, a high-contrast close-up of a frothy pint of Staropramen beer on a table next to a camera lens, with soft bokeh in the background. Bottom row: On the left, a brutalist architectural shot showing a tall concrete tower rising behind a lower, rectangular building with a grid of windows. On the right, a low-angle shot of a curved concrete highway overpass against a cloudy sky.
Had a great Glasgow photo walk with my friend Jim yesterday! We also caught Marc Davenant’s Outsiders & Simon Phipps’ Brutal Scotland at Street Level Photoworks. Both were brilliant. I’ll be sharing a blog post on Monday with some of my shots from the day.

Thank you they're perfect bed fellows.
The photo is mostly of water and sky, with a thin line of grey-blue hills about half way up. The sky is low and troubled clouds, in various shades of grey. The water is troubled too, with small waves in shocking greens and aquas.
The photo is of startlingly turquoise water with the deck of a small wooden boat. The top edge of the boat has a pale orange metal strip, and a chain and some rope lies in the boat itself. The water shows a reflection of a cloud and some ripples around the top edge.
One of the oldest lakes in Europe - Lake Ohrid, 2-3 million years old - with the most spectacular water I've ever seen anywhere. Two moments: left, from a dock in Radozda before a storm; right, on a boat on a perfectly sunny day.

A soft white tulip in sharp focus stands in the foreground, set against the blurred glow of the iconic Chicago Theatre sign and surrounding city buildings. The contrast highlights delicate natural form against the energy of an urban street scene.
